Edith stood at Caden’s side as the sky, already dark, got even darker. Black clouds billowed like waves, crashing together in the sky. Caden shouted a command, and out of the shadows, out of the forest, came other vampires.
Edith turned around, and around, “I didn’t know there was this many…”
Caden gave a grim smile, “They have come from all over at my summoning. I hope it’s enough.”
He looked at her gravely, “Go back to the house. Only fight if things go poorly.”
Edith frowned, but nodded, knowing he meant well. As she headed back to the Tenebris Domus, Miles and Asher joined Caden outside the wall. The other vampires, in all their realm’s sinister glory, roared as they surged forward to meet their foes.
The battle of Tenebris Domus had begun.
The screams and sounds of darkest nightmares filled the air. Edith stopped before she reached the doors, spinning around and heading back to the wall.
“Eleazar!” She shouted. “Eleazar! Felix! Where is your army?”
