"What are you doing here?"
His squinted dark eyes were only inches away from her face, making Chiaki jolt up as she woke up. The chill that ambushed her spine quickly spread to the base of her neck, draining all colours from her face.
Without any yawnings or blinking away, Chiaki sat up, her back straightened at the vision. The thick blanket covering her body fell to her lap, her torso that was covered in a thin sleep dress was exposed to the spring breeze.
"M- my lord." Her stuttering voice sounded heavy and croaked with sleep. She cleared her throat and tried greeting him again.
"My lord." Bowing her head, Chiaki inhaled a deep breath to calm her nervously pounding heart, as though she would receive any punishment from the lord for lounging in the living room, showing herself to anyone that might come inside.
