Chapter 269: AN UNUSUAL ALLY

My heart felt like it was slowing down, my breathing was so weak and I felt exhausted. So, this was what it felt like to die from heat? I muse as I stared at the stars in the night sky. It was the most horrible way to die ever. It felt as if my skin was burning from the inside out. My throat felt dry even though I was taking water and iced liquid. Nothing seemed to be able to quench my thirst. It didn't help that the temperature in the room has also adapted to my illness.

It had gotten unbearable hot that even the maidservants had to take of layers of their clothing just to come inside. My hair matted to my face and my whole body felt clammy which was actually kind of uncomfortable! I couldn't tell which was worse. Me about to get frozen to death or die because of the heat!
