Chapter 98: Chapter 97

Elliot came back to see Matt on the couch. This was new…well not new. Odd because he's been confined in his room since the whole ordeal. He wished he could have been more attentive in the past. No changing it now. He was watching TV and he doubted that he even noticed that he was back.

"Matt" he called.

The reaction was instantaneous. He sat up abruptly and looked at him. "Dad" he replied surprised. "You're back early".

"Yeah. I've been doing that for some time now" he smiled. It seemed that every time they tried to have a conversation there was always something hindering them. Sometimes themselves, and other times just things that they couldn't control. Now though, it was late, and also not a school night so nothing was really stopping them.

"Want me to make you something?" he offered, dropping his bag by the door.

"No need. There's enough of mum's cooking that'll take us to next week. Maybe more" he laughed.
