Chapter 41: Chapter 40

The drive back home was silent. Two hospital visits in the past two months. He hoped the hospital wouldn't call social services. Finding Matthew unconscious and naked in a motel room was bound to give both of them a heart attack. He had never seen Helen like that ever. He'd never want to see that again. What had happened? Matt was the only one who knew but he wasn't saying anything.

He never thought he'd see the grey streaks so soon, but they were there. Stood out in his roots. Not so prominent yet but they were on their way. He looked at the rearview mirror to see how he was doing. Matt just busied himself with looking out the window, still refusing to look at anyone or talk to anyone. He didn't even know if Beck knew about this, but he thought it was better that he didn't come. He didn't want him to feel crowded.
