Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Very Fresh and Very Tasty (Edited)

"Come on, let's take it easy, my guidance is very strict, please bear with me." Tom patiently explained to Ron the essence of the levitation spell in parts, and Ron nodded his head repeatedly. Even Hermione, who was eavesdropping, had to admit that Tom had been very thorough.

"How stupid can someone be who can't cast a spell with this kind of help?" Hermione thought to herself, and Harry, who had evidently heard Tom, managed to get his quill to float shakily the next moment, never quite peeling off the table, but it was a success.

Ron, however, was not so optimistic, and even with Tom's technical support, his feather stayed on the table like a salted fish, just wriggling and not moving. There were quizzical looks from the surrounding young wizards, for Tom's voice was not low, and at least five or six students had heard him, and all had managed to use the levitation spell.

These piercing stares made Ron feel embarrassed. His whole face turned red, even at the base of his ears.

Tom looked at Ron, pondering. He got the feeling that Ron Weasley's talent must not be that bad, and Tom's eyes finally landed on Ron's wand, which was so old it was cracked in places, even with unicorn hair peeking out of the bottom.

"Try it with my wand." Without asking Ron, Tom slipped his wand into his hand and, red-faced, Ron cast the spell and the feather floated up!

"You really need a new wand." said Tom sympathetically, patting Ron on the shoulder. Tom couldn't understand the Weasley family's spending patterns: wands were the most important thing a wizard had, and money was being saved on them? Couldn't Bill and Charlie, who were already working and financially independent, be a little more supportive? A new wand only cost seven galleons, had Mr. and Mrs. Weasley forgotten about their eldest son and second son? Did Bill and Charlie buy their wands with their own labor? Is it hard to support your brother when you grow up after being raised as a boy? Wouldn't Bill pay 2 galleons, Charlie 2 galleons, buy some second hand textbooks and the money would come out for the wands?

A wand is to a wizard what running shoes are to a long distance runner, you don't need custom made ones, you can't run in a pair of recycled running shoes can you?

With Tom's help, Ron was able to use the spell and Tom completed the mission.

He looked at the mysterious gift package in the system interface and was excited for a while: it was about to evolve!

He clicked "OK."

[Mission reward used....]

[Random selection of organs...]

[Organ selection complete, organ to be upgraded: wisdom teeth]

Tom: "???"

Tom: "!!!!"

Wait a minute! Stop! I'm not going to reinforce them! Stop!

[The rewards for this quest have been distributed, the system will automatically distribute the rewards without the host's initiative]

There's something shady going on! Tom was furious: You are a system with a heart smaller than a horse's eye! I said a few words about you earlier, and now you're playing dirty with me? Are wisdom teeth an organ? Yes, but of all the organs in the human body, how could I choose wisdom teeth?

All of Tom's imaginary chakra eyes, adamantium fingers and unstoppable gun went out the window. All Tom felt was a sharp pain in his cheek, and a bead of sweat rolled down the front of his forehead for a moment, startling Hermione beside him.

"Are you okay?" Hermione asked worriedly, holding Tom's shoulders.

"Toothache...," Tom replied with watery eyes.

"Open your mouth, ah-" Hermione told Tom to open his mouth, then took her wand and cast the spell (Lumos), looked inside and laughed out loud, "Nothing serious, you have a wisdom tooth."

Tom's mind was about to collapse.

"It's not a problem, my dad can get it in a quarter of an hour." Hermione looked at Tom, hesitated and finally said, "But you need to take care of your oral hygiene, there's a cavity in that wisdom tooth, I can see a big hole with the naked eye."

Tom's feelings were mixed, but in the end he had to accept reality. It was all just a little episode, and after a while the Enchantment lesson was over.

After the Charms lesson, Tom and his classmates had another hilarious lesson on Defense Against the Dark Arts, Professor Quirrell stammered as usual and Tom no longer bothered to pay attention to him, he opened his textbook and studied the contents on his own every day. He tried to listen attentively to Quirrell's lectures, but whatever he did, he couldn't turn on the theory column called Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Tom came to the conclusion that there really wasn't a theory in the system called Defense Against the Dark Arts, and he didn't think it could be because the professor was too bad, did he? If Professor Lupin in third year was so good that he couldn't activate Defense Against the Dark Arts, then there was no such thing in the system. Tom had high hopes for the young fourth year Crouch, whom he hoped would help him activate Theory of Knowledge Defense Against the Dark Arts, after all, he had the talent to do it...and he could level up in a few days.

It was too difficult to activate the theories of knowledge on his own, so he needed lectures from professors to activate them. Tom surmised that the lectures were the key to activation.

After class, Tom and his friends headed to the Great Dining Hall for lunch; by now Tom's teeth weren't hurting as much. Padma, on the other hand, slipped out with her sister. They left the castle, got out the cooking utensils and began making tea with milk.

Padma first boiled the water, then poured the tea leaves into the water and let them steep for three minutes, then added sugar to the pot and poured in the strained tea. As she watched the tea and sugar mix, Padma twirled her wand and the tea spun around in the pot, thoroughly mixing the sugar with the tea.

Then she took out the milk, heated it until it boiled, and poured the boiling milk into an earthenware pot, where the hot milk, as it cooled, immediately curdled into a thick top, a mixture of cream and butter, which is the milk fat.

Finally, Padma mixed the milk with the tea she had prepared, added a handful of spices and made herself a cup of Indian-style milk tea.

"There, give it to Tom," said Parvati, coming over to smell it with a delighted expression, "It smells so good! It's very fresh and very tasty!"
