The creek was crystal clear, and only just deep enough for swimming. It was a beautiful location, with the graceful, shady green trees, and grass covered banks, and the gazebo looked to be well maintained, the paint fresh and bright.
Owen paused on the edge of the bank and pulled off his shoes and socks. “Coming in?” He asked over his shoulder, casually.
“Why not?” She heeled off her shoes and stooped to remove her socks before following him into the water. The riverbank was pebbles rather than a slimy dirt, but it made for slightly unsteady footing, and Owen held out his hand to steady her as they both laughed and slipped their way into the water, until it was deep enough for them to swim. “It is so warm.”
