Alessandra didn't answer Edgar's request immediately, but as soon as she did, she was lifted up into his arms with one foot dangling on each side of his body. She couldn't recall the exact moment when she and Edgar began to kiss or when her hands slipped into his hair.

Since they had both missed each other so much during the hours they had been apart, their kiss did not begin as sweetly or gently as it usually would. Alessandra genuinely had no idea how she would have fared if Edgar had gone to the border to deal with the trouble with Rafael.
