Chapter 25: The welcome feast 2
As soon as the door opened up all the whispering and voices stopped. My heart felt like it would drop out of my chest with all the stares. Everyone was staring at me like I was something foreign.
I felt so uncomfortable with the stares that I slowly inched closer to Lust not realizing how much I have hidden myself behind him.
I must look like a coward. So much for first impression huh!
He pulled me towards a seat close to Rage who is sitting at the head of the table. We sat down,with him between me and Rage.
The air suddenly felt stuffy. Everywhere was oddly quiet. I couldn't even bring myself to make eye contact with anyone. I could feel their stares on me.
'Oh someone please make it stop...'
Suddenly I heard someone clear their throat. That alone reduced the eyes of some people from me making me finally able to breathe.
"We are here to welcome the arrival of the Lords and their sons. Let's please not forget that."
I looked up trying to see who just spoke. When I met the stare of an elderly man. He looked aged but not much really. He was striking in appearance and looks to be someone whose opinion matters because everyone suddenly avaited their gazes from me once he spoke.
I looked around the extremely large table fascinated. The table was made of gold and the room was really large. I'm definitely sure around 50 or more people are seated here.
Everyone was dressed extravagantly especially the ladies. Maybe it's a demon thing. Cause everyone looks so beautiful and charming.
"Are you okay? Should we leave?" Lust whispered in my ear. His hand never left mine. I find that alone oddly comforting.
I leaned closer to him and whispered softly to him
"No I'm fine. Let's stay."
I gave him a forced smile hoping to make him relax. It won't look good if we just leave.

"Ohhh...Asm..I mean Lust, who is this? Another cherry you plucked?" Austin asked from across the table grinning. His eyes never left Chris since she stepped into the room.
Lust gaze hardened as he stared at Austin. He watched as his friend undressed Chris with his eyes, making him shoot daggers at him with his eyes. Making his grin widen the more. He felt like punching the stupid grin off his face.
"Can we share? I thought you used to love shar...."
"Austin!!"
The firm voice of his father boomed in the room. Austin rolled his eyes at him and popped a berry in his mouth.
"Joy killer..."he mumbled under his breath sure that his father heard him.
The ladies at the table kept giggling and smiling. Some were already stuck in their fantasies as they stared at him ignoring their partners.
"If that childish drama is over now, let's eat shall we?"
Austin scoffed, making everyone stare at him with wide eyes and most with admiration.
Rage ignored him and called for the maids as they approached the table and each dropped the dishes on the table.
"Why are we suddenly eating human food? Suddenly we have to change our diet because of a pest?" Calida scoffed while glaring at Chris.
Lust relaxed back on his seat. He had a terrifying smile on his face as he picked up his wine and sipped.
"Haven't we been eating human food Calida huh?" He asked with a smile still on his lips as he rotated his wine.
No one spoke. They all could smell his anger and knew better than to involve themselves. Some were so scared to look up that they focused on their food and kept their ears wide open.
"And...we all know who the 'pest' here is and it's definitely not her" He grinned wickedly at her.
Some ladies couldn't keep in their laughter as they all bauled out in laughter. But only a glare from Calida shut them up.
She was about to retort when Theia placed a hand on her arm.
"Don't do this here Calida. You are a council member,respect yourself!"She cautioned her.
"Oohh ....it's getting hot in here" Austin snickered which ended up in him receiving a slap on the back of his head from Gabriel. His drink in his mouth sprouted out. He coughed and glared at Gabriel who hid his face to prevent himself from laughing.
"Can we eat!" Rage felt annoyed by all the childish drama going on around the table. They aren't even acting like someone who has lived for decades. He felt so angry that he couldn't help but frown.
Chris saw his frown and couldn't help but scoff at him.
"Your face will remain that way forever if you don't change it birdbrain."
Everywhere was suddenly quiet. Except for a few people who were about drinking their drinks coughing out loudly. Rage glared at the annoying lady whose face and neck were already turning red from the attention on her.
Chris didn't know when she spoke forgetting where she was . She couldn't keep her mouth shut.
Gabriel and Austin laughed out loud giving everyone who was fighting so hard to keep their laughter in, an opportunity to laugh out loud.
Lust laughed as well.
"You have finally met your match brother."
Everyone couldn't help but agree to the statement. Rage has this scary aura that kept people away from him or talking back at him. So you can imagine how shocked they were when a smallish human girl suddenly called him a 'birdbrain'.
His aura became so suffocating that they all focused back on their food. The atmosphere suddenly became calm. Everyone became so focused on their food except for one person who has been quiet all this while observing the girl beside Lust.
Leonard eyes never left Chris.
For a while the atmosphere was calm before a few council members brought up a discussion and started talking with some Lords.
Chris knew that some people still doesn't like her and even more after what she just did. She could feel the burning glares of some ladies especially the one that called her a 'pest'.
Who is she?
Why does she hate her so much?
She tried ignoring the glares and focus on her food. Chris kept eating and eating not even giving herself space to breath.
'if she keeps eating that way we are definitely going to run out of food!'
'i know right! She already looks fat and short. I wonder what he sees in her... tch!'
She heard some ladies speak as they laughed quietly . If she could hear them so clearly she was sure the others heard them more clearly. She suddenly felt more embarrassed.
She loved food alot, especially chicken and alot of it was on the table, she just couldn't help it .
She just lose herself whenever she sees food.
Chris cleared her throat embarrassed. She picked up the water on the table and forced it down her throat,pushing her plate away slightly.
Rage chuckled at her antics shaking his head at her.
"When is the human-pre-demon leaving this world?" A voice spoke sarcastically.
The statement alone was all it took to suck her breath away. Everyone became still.
They all stared with one eye at Lust to see what he would say or do. But he was oddly quiet and still focused on his food.
"Her presence here is suffocating!" Lord Arioch spoke with a straight face while staring at Elder Lancelot.
"Um...she is part of this world Lord Arioch. It won't be right to send her away like that" Lancelot spoke trying to calm the tense atmosphere.
"No she isn't! Her mother was just another whore Demora slept with. I'm sure she wasn't the only human he has slept with. If we start bringing all of them and their kids here and suddenly make them a royal then demons will suddenly look like a joke!"Lord Arioch spoke harshly.
"Can we not do this here Lord Arioch" Lancelot pleaded with the man trying to avoid the arising conflict.
More talks was going around about the matter but to Chris none of that mattered anymore.
She felt like the world suddenly slowed down. She has already lost sight of what was going on after she heard her deceased mother called 'a whore'. Her eyes glazed with tears as she fought them from flowing down her face.
She bit her lips trying to prevent herself from sobbing. It's all her fault! Because of her, her mother is being called a whore. If only she was never curious about here in the first place.
Chris clinched her hand fighting her rising anger and tears within.
She was angry at Lust for keeping silent. At the demons for making fun of her. At the lady for calling her a pest, she was angry at everything and everyone!
She could still here noises in the background but her mind was far away already.
The word kept playing in her head like a mantra.
The window suddenly flew open and heavy wind started blowing. She could hear Lust voice in the background but just couldn't make out what he was saying.
She was beyond angry to care.
The glasses on the table suddenly broke and flew towards the direction of Lord Arioch when Lust shaked her making her snap out of it.
And just like rain,the glasses all fell and dropped down on the table.
"What happened?" She asked confused as she looked at Lust pale face.
Chris looked around the table and saw everyone standing. She could see as demons stood in battle stance. Their eyes blazed.
Shards of glasses everywhere.
"D-did I do that?" Her eyes were wide as she stared at Lust.
The silence around was her answer.
Lord Arioch eyes were wide at the display.
"She needs training fast! Her demon side will keep being triggered when she is angry if she doesn't learn to control it!" Elder Lancelot spoke slightly amazed at the sight he just behold.
