Chapter 98: Pijal City
The capital city of Pijal shares the same name with the planet itself. A huge city that was built on top of where the first settlers first built homes.
The royal district of the city is where the palace and main government buildings reside. Such as the parliament building, embassies, etc. Princess Fanry lives in the royal district. The Jedi also live as guest in her palace rather than some more modest accommodations.
Master Averross has been reagent of the planet ever since Fanry was a little girl. Rather than doing his role properly. He has abused his power to push the planet into a democracy. As an outsider, and a Jedi, trying to change a planet's government structure in this way is distasteful. Especially through using a corpo like Czerka to achieve it.
When entering the capital, Czerka influence was evident in most things. Buildings, stores, restaurants, and entertainment. Rampant corporate propaganda.
Furia asks, "Where will be meeting our neglected princess?"
"She wants us to meet her in a secret room in the palace that only members of the royal family can access.", my answer interests Furia.
"Well, if only a royal member can enter the room. How are we supposed to enter it?", she further asks.
I chuckle, "Rooms are meant to be entered. We just need to be creative. I already have the location of the room. So let's go see it for ourselves."
We both go to an exit door of the Moth and jump out as we fly over the royal district. We have a smooth and unnoticed landing atop the roof of the palace. We silently enter through an open window and stalk through the halls.
The secret room has a secret hallway that goes to it. Which begins on the first floor of the palace. The hallway itself is also hidden. To access it, we have to go through two specific pillars that are put close together. There, a wall that can be rotated when touched at a specific point is the way in. We find it easily and with a bit of probing, get the wall to rotate.
We enter the hallway that is quite thin. Perfect for holding back enemies as there is nowhere to hide when walking through this hallway. The hallway takes us down another floor. Then it splits into many paths.
A maze...
Not a bad way to keep out people that aren't supposed to be here. Mazes are not lost to me though. Xenomorph hunts often take place in maze-like structure. I grab three scout orbs and have them fly off. They will quickly scan all the paths and map the entire maze out.
A minute after their deployment, they return and a completed map has been made. The door to the room had been found. Furia and I navigate the maze perfectly to reach the door. The space in front of it being much wider. I analyze the door bad. It uses DNA recognition. Royal DNA is required.
For once, my hacking software didn't work on something. I did not want to use any mecha daru on it neither. As any mistake will keep the door locked. Even though I could use forceful means easily. I did not want to be defeated by a door pad.
"Allow me Dear...", Furia says. I stand aside to make room for her.
She takes my place and whispers some words. Green smoke seeps into the door pad and it unlocks.
I question, "What sort of spell was that?"
Furia answers proudly, "A spell for such security that requires biological keys. It gleams the device of the essence of past accessors. Then copies said essence. Finally using it to clear the security by mimicking the biological key. In this case, DNA data. I practices such spells knowing I would be doing missions that require stealth and infiltration."
"I am not surprised. You're always a prepared woman. Ladies first.", I say warmly.
She giggles, "Even on mission you remember your manners, what a gentlemen."
"But of course.", I walk behind her as she enters.
We got through a buffer room as the door closes behind us. Then reach a lobby room where we see our princess waiting for us. She looks around in confusion as she heard the door open, but doesn't see us.
Through the helmet comm, I tell Furia, "Remain cloaked for a moment. She knows that she only hired me. I don't want to freak the little girl out with their being two right off the bat."
She understands and I uncloak so Fanry can see me.
She is startled at my sudden appearance, but composes herself nicely for her age.
"You must be Predator? Your reputation precedes you. Entering this room without royal blood without being brutish is commendable.", she says.
"You hired the best, you will get no less. I even took care of that hyperspace lane stabilizing station already on the way here. Nice to mee you Princess Fanry."
