"Hmm." The man didn't respond directly; instead, he gazed deeply at her. Seeing the anxiety on her face, his eyes flickered, and he said, "I'm injured, it's severe."

"Severe?!" Tara Summer's concern increased, her face lost all color. Her hands started to frantically roam over his body.

From his chest to his belly, then to his back, Liam Yancey arched his brow, his breath becoming heavier with her movements.

"What's wrong? Does it hurt a lot? Where exactly is the injury?!" Her face was tense, her eyes filled with so much worry that tears were on the brink of falling.

Liam Yancey looked at her steadily, witnessing all the worry, anxiety, and heartache reflected in her eyes.

Feeling a sudden tightness in his chest, he pulled her against him and gazed into her eyes saying, "Tara, are you really worried about me?"

Tara stiffened, attempting to pull away. Not knowing where his injuries were, she feared that she might further hurt him.
