Chapter 14: A bottle of wine GLUTTONY
"Whats going on?!" I woke up in a different room. Was I kidnapped? I never left the house, because dad told me the outside was dangerous. But this was not my house. "Dad where are you?!"
I heard footsteps coming to the door on the right side of the room. 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘥. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘦!
The door opened and a tall man walked trough it. "Are you okay?"
"Don't kill me please!"
"It's okay I'm a friend." The man had brown hair just like dad, but it was not dad.
"Please, I did nothing wrong!" 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥. 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥. 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶?!
"Listen I found you lost in the middle of the night, but you have multiple personalisaties."
"I don't understand! I need food to think!"
"Sure, sure I-I'll make something for you." The man walked away immediately.
I wore my different underwear than where I felt asleep with. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?! 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘮 𝘐?! 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘢𝘥!
"Breakfast is ready!" It was the tall man who called out.
I walked downstairs very quietly. 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴? 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯. 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥. 𝘋𝘢𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵. When I walked near the kitchen, I was hypnotized. "This smell..." It was the smell of meat. "What is that for animal?"
"You're here." He put two plates with each a burger on it. "The bread is freshly made with good quality. Same goed for the tomatoes and lettuce. The meat is that from a mammoth. They are located in the eastern side of Vloricus. The Mammoths live in the mountains just like the dwarfs. The dwarvens know how to hunt good quality meat and it is cooked by a fire user... me. Then there is one more thing on it. It is very expensive so you better enjoy," he joked and opened the burger. The meat was shiny. "If there is one continent who knows how to make seasoning it is Aloria. I used the finest sea salt and peper, but it is nothing compared to that what is shining on there, mermaid scales. One bite and you know what I mean. Go ahead."
The hamburger looked like the best meal I would ever eat in my life. 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥? 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴. I grabbed the soft bread of the burger. 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰. I opened my mouth and moved the burger to my mouth. I took a large bite and the burger rolled over my tongue. "Yummy! Thof Fluffer!" I said with the burger in my mouth. Translated: "That Flavor!" The burger was a bomb of taste. It was enough taste to make you unable to ever taste smaller tastes again. I swallowed my first bite. "You!" I pointed my finger to the tall man. "What is your name?"
"I am Martin."
"Martin, you will cook for me everyday!"
"Haha! I don't work on fridays so I can make dinner for you today."
"Friday? It was Sunday yesterday... It should be Monday."
"About that..." Martin explained everything. I ate the burger while listening to him.
"My... My dad is... dead?!" My burger was finished when I started to panic. I rushed to the fridge. 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥. 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵... 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴.
Dad used to have that large bottle. One time I asked him what he was holding.
"This is the best wine in Vloricus. It helps me forgetting all my problems."
"Can I have some?"
"Wine is not for children, but one sip couldn't be that bad."
I was twelve when I took my first sip of wine "Bleh!" My face looked like I just smelled one of my father's socks... or two
"Hahahaha! You will get used to it once you get a little older."
"I never want this again!"
"I'll bet you will beg for it later!" he said while drinking the whole bottle empty.
"Is that wine?" I asked to Martin.
"Yea and it is a good one as well. The best..."
"...Wine of Vloricus I know." I finished Martin's sentence.
"You are only sixteen you shouldn't touch that stuff."
"But I want it" 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘴.
"Fine! But only one glass." Martin poured a glass of wine and gave it to me. "Here you go."
"Thank you." I took one sip. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨... 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘵. I drank the whole glass at once. "Aaaaargh! This is so good! I want more."
"That wouldn't be a good idea. You don't wan to leave your brother with a hangover do you?"
"Just one more."
"No."
"Please..." I begged Martin for another glass.
"Fine... but promise me this is the last one."
"I promise!"
I broke my promise. After I finished my glass and said, "what is that for kind of animal?" I pointed to the window stole the bottle of wine and ran away.
"Hey! You promised me..."
"Sorry!" I said while running to my room.
I closed the door behind me and saw something laying the under the bed. 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮. They were. I tested it on the door and it locked.
"Reuben," Martin said while knocking on the door. "I'm coming in!" The door handle went down, but the door stayed close. "You locked it? I thought you lost your key." I heard him walking away and then a ringing sound.
"Shit, he probably has keys for this door as well." 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘹 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴! I ran to the door, put the key in it and quarter turned it. 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘥! 𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦.
"What?! You kept the key in the hole?"
"Yeah, now I'm the smartest man alive 𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘱! I beated you Mart'n. You will never het past to this strong gate. Muhahah I won... 𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘱."
"I want my bottle Reuben! Give it back! I will kill you if you don't open the gate."
"Haha, you can't kill me if I don't open the gate. I have the bottle now haha 𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘱."
"Nooooo! No I'll die!"
"I won hahaha!" I looked at the nightstand and saw something laying on it. "Why is that ring green? I hate green. It should be orange like my hair haha 𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘱." I walked to the green ring and touched the stone. The stone turned orange. "Yeah! That is what I'm talking about!" I put on the ring and felt asleep on the floor.
I saw white fog everywhere. "Where am I." At my right and left were six other people in total. In the fornt of me I saw big rainbow eyes. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦... 𝘮𝘦?
