Chapter 100: The Deromian wilderness (1)

"Long ago, several millennia ago, when giants and dragons ruled the world fighting daily endlessly. Blood was spilled on a secondly basis and the two races loathed each other for unknown reasons. There was one giant who fell in love with a she dragon. The giant wooeed the she dragon for months on end. Through the rain, snow, heavy meteorite shower and even earthquakes he came to her mountains until finally he was able to court with her. And that is how the world serpent was born. The end, Did you understand?" I said as I held Thomas close to my chest. He giggled and smiled innocently.

Babies, such innocent fascinating creatures. With just my pinkie and thumb, if I exerted a little pressure I could kill him and yet he did not know that. He smiled and giggled with no care in the world not knowing I could dictate whether he lived or died. His entire world revolved around me. I could just throw him out of the window of the sky ship and he would be disintegrated and die within a millisecond.

Fuck! Why am I thinking of such things? Having Damiens personality really made think of things I usually would not.

"That's quite a story." A voice came from in front of me. In the seat ahead of me by several metres sat a woman. She had a high ponytail and wore a business suit. She held a camera in one hand and a notepad in the other.

"Do you mind telling me more?" She asked.

I clicked my teeth in annoyance. "Yes I do mind, besides do you not know that eavesdropping on someone is terrible manners."

The lady stood up and I managed to see her face properly as earlier on it was blocked by the seat. She was an Asian woman who seemed to be in her late twenties. Despite that she had several wrinkles which made me doubt it had I not been good at just knowing people's age. She had black hair with a strand of white hair. She bowed and smile at me.

"I am very sorry about that but my reporter instincts kicked in when I heard such a juicy story." She sat down on the seat next to me and pressed her gargantuan bosom on my arm.

"Would you be so kind as to share the rest of the story with me? My curiosity is killing me."

I put my hand in the air and pressed the button above me and called for the stewardess who immediately appeared.

"What is the problem sir?" she asked.

"This lady is bothering me and my child. Can you please return her to her seat?" I asked the stewardess.

_____________

The sky ship had reached its destination and I quickly unboarded the sky ship. I hailed a taxi and gave it directions. It took me to a bank but not just any bank. It was the bank I was currently using.

I withdrew all the money from my account and opened a new account. The new account was an untraceable account that was used by lots of white collar criminals. I had the option of taking it in cash but taking all my money into the Deromian wilderness was not a viable option, therefore I had settle for this option.

I also bought a new sim card and a new data plan. I bought several phone banks that were charged to the brim. Before I went into the Deromian wilderness I needed to prepare myself. Sooner or later my battery was going to die but it was better than nothing. I could at least catch up on the latest one piece shippuden episodes while I was there.

I also bought some food, camping gear and extra stuff for Thomas. Taking care of a baby was a nightmare but I knew the worse was still to come. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that he could possibly have his mother's abilities I would have ditched him long ago.

The entrance to the Deromian wilderness was a giant gate that spanned 2 kilometres and reached over 3 kilometers in height. There were lots of gaurds all wearing kevlar and holding heavy weaponry. I even noticed one guy holding a machine gun which was really weird as there were civilians around them. Not to mention the fact that it was heavy and yet he just stood there without complaint holding it.

I needed to get behind that door but there was 2 main problems. The first was the gaurds. No human was allowed to go into the Deromian wilderness whatsoever. That was why there were several supers placed there. They were all part of the Giovan Corporation. The Giovan Corporation was a giant corporation that was filled with lots of supers. They reported directly to the UN. They were practically a world peace keeping and counter terrorism organisation.

I knew that the gaurds were not going to be a breeze but I was surprised after I had taken them all out with 5 seconds.

The second and main problem was the giant door that stood proudly and loomed over me like a nightmare. The door weighed over 200 tons according to the guide book I had but I managed to pry it open. I increased my body size and continued pulling it apart until finally it opened.

I slipped through the small crack that I had created. Finally I was out of the human world and into the Deromian wilderness. The Deromian wilderness was a placed filled with monstrosities that scared even Damien. It was a place filled with monsters that could swallow cities and giants that could create tsunamis just by going for a swim in the ocean. It was a good thing that they usually did not otherwise the whole world would be messed up terribly.

The Deromian wilderness was also the house to several people that I wanted to meet. The first was The soul collector. In exchange for your soul he would give you unmatched talent and potential in one specific area. For example since I was a shaker, I could sacrifice all my talent in all categories just so that one category could shine brighter than the others.

The next person on the list was The Liar. I did not want to meet the liar no matter what. He was the most powerful person in the entire novel. A being who just slept all day and only told lies but when woken up was worse than any calamity. He would lie, destroy, cause wars and kill. The scary thing was that he did not kill or start wars for pleasure or for profit. He did it just cause. Even Damien moved for profit and so did I but he was different. He had no cause, no purpose, could not be reasoned with. He just was evil for no reason.

The scary thing was that even I, the author knew so little about him because I wanted him to stay as mysterious as possible. That was the only known information about him. That and the fact that he could manipulate atoms and bend reality.

But most importantly the people that I wanted to meet the most was Damiens family and it was for one specific purpose. It was to learn the family martial arts.

Guys I just realised recently that I did not give much character development to the few side characters available and little world building. So from now on I am going to be focusing on the side characters development more than the MC and more world building. Hope you enjoy.
