Adeline smirked. It was easy asking him to leave her than what she thought.
"My clothes?" she asked.
"maid will arrange for you in a few minutes." Augustus smiled warmly at her and stepped out of the room in the next second.
Adeline sighed. She peeked out from the window to see at the ground if there are really reporters standing out there but the floor on which she was standing was too high from the ground to even see who is there.
She felt dizzy due to the height and quickly stepped back. Glancing around she saw a wardrobe and it didn't take any longer for her mind to plan something different.
"if the reporters are really downstairs then I should dress into something in which they can't recognise me. Just like yesterday."
Adeline mumbled while making her way to the wardrobe and peeking into the clothes inside it.
She was right, there are clothes of Augustus in it but not something he can wear to go out. They were his oversized pyjamas and some oversized sweatpants with hoodies.
"Sweatpants and hoodies can do," she said while picking out the black combos and placing them on the bed.
There were different colour caps and sunglasses too from which Adeline picked the black ones.
Closing the door of the wardrobe, Adeline turned around to see a girl puzzled standing behind her. She had a tablet in her hands and she was probably inside to interrogate Adeline.
"Who are you?" Adeline was stunned looking at the beautiful and elegant girl before her. She looked younger than her and had innocence on her face.
"Wait! His girlfriend?" Adeline asked another question before the girl could answer her.
"No Ms," the girl smiled gently. "I work here as a maid and I'm here to ask you what you will wear."
She was very polite with her words and actions. Girls like her are rare to meet. But how come such a pretty girl is escaped from the devil Augustus is what Adeline was thinking.
"Is it because of her status? Because she is just a maid? Poor girl, she doesn't deserve the world to treat her like this," Adeline said in her mind.
She was staring at the girl which made the girl more puzzled and awkward.
Clearing her throat, the girl asked Adeline, "Here is the collection. Please select what you want to wear and it will be here within a few hours."
"Within a few hours." Her last line repeated in Adeline's head.
"wh- what? Few hours?" she gasped. "Where the hell is that Augustus? I'm leaving right now!"
The girl walked out instantly from the room after looking at how crazy the nation's diva was behaving. "Maybe she hurt her brain when she got into an accident last night," she mumbled in a low voice.
"Who? Adeline?" Augustus's voice made the girl jump in her place. She quickly turned back to see him standing behind her.
"Maybe you are right," he sighed. "You can go, I will deal with her."
The girl followed his instructions and walked away from there while Augustus peeked inside the room to look at Adeline scratching her hands.
She was scratching them to the extent that they turned red as if she is allergic to something. Augustus walked inside to ask her if she needs something and there she stood like a fire before him.
"I said I was leaving and you said I can. I asked for my clothes and you said your maid will prepare them within a few minutes. Then what is it about me waiting for a few hours? Should I be sitting here at your place like crazy until then?" she burst out.
"My father is coming. Until we meet him, you can't go anywhere." Augustus said. A serious tone reflected in his voice.
"I don't care what you said to others about you and me. You didn't ask me before doing that, better you look after the mess you created and let me go!" Adeline picked up the clothes in her hands and made her way toward the washroom.
Adeline was getting once again on his nerves. But as he has decided, the deal must not be done with pressure but calmly and with the acceptance of both.
He took a deep breath and breath out, his way of calming down before he followed Adeline towards the washroom.
Before Adeline could close the door behind her, Augustus stepped inside with her.
"What are you doing? Go- get out of here, I'm changing my clothes!" she shouted at the top of her lungs while Augustus rolled up his eyes on her and closed the door behind him, locking both of them inside the washroom.
"Ms Elsher, let me remind you that I'm not stuck in any situation. I have many options of faking the statements I have given before but what after that?" he smirked.
Augustus stepped closer to Adeline while she stepped back from him until her back touched the wall and she has no way to escape the dangerous man before her.
"Just like what happened yesterday, the same and worst than that could happen to you today. The people who want to work with you now will defame you everywhere and don't forget they are top in this industry. Also, the reporters will get a chance to increase the TRP of their channels and your parents will hate you more with the news of your scandal every now and then." Augustus explained calmly.
"Are you blackmailing me?" she clenched her jaw. Her eyes were red and filled with tears ready to fall if he say any more bitter words.
"I'm not. I have no interest in doing that." he cleared. "it's just the truth that you have to accept about your life."
