Chapter 41: SANCTUARY

Third Person's P.O.V

The Sanctuary... an utopia for those creatures who had triumphed over their intense need to consume blood. Everything is surreal, and the Sanctuary is shielded from the rest of the vampire world by a mystical force-field. Trees stand tall with their mossy trunks, and their leaves can be any color of the rainbow depending on their rarity and classification.

The grassy meadows are mostly green, yet there are hints of gold here and there. The rivers and other bodies of water are tranquil and soothing, with crystal clear water where fish of various sizes, types, and colors have found a permanent home. The wind is gentle on everything it touches, and its embrace can sometimes be felt, warming every shattered and restless soul.

Every corner of this sanctuary exudes beauty and elegance, as if it were sculpted by the most skillful artist. The silence of calm is like music played by the greatest musicians. Every eye that is privileged enough to gaze upon this place will feel captivated, as if they are staring at the most beautiful woman they have ever seen.

That is what Vreihya used to see and feel when she first set foot and laid eyes upon this place where her nightmares began to come true. Her chest heaved once more as she traded glimpses with the woman she hadn't seen in a long time and didn't desire to see again.

A place this magnificent necessitates an equal goddess, but what stands in front of her goes beyond that beauty. The lady who appears to be as young as the princess but is millennia older than her is displaying her glamour while wearing a gold tight backless long dress with a touch of white like a scattered paint.

Her skin is as white as it gets, and her lips are crimson red. Her foxy eyes, which complemented her purple-colored eyes, and pointed nose added to her entire appeal. She exudes elegance, yet the mischievous smirk that forms on her lips reveals her deadly personality. Although her arms are crossed, she stands with grace and authority.

"Circa," the princess spoke out intently, repeatedly preventing herself from giving an intense anger. "You have a man with you, that's a bad move," the sanctuary's deity stated, gently shaking her head. "Don't ever lay a hand on him!" the princess exclaimed forcefully, raising her hand to prepare herself, but she was taken aback by what she remembered.

No magic works in this sanctuary except for the deity. If she steps foot in this realm, she becomes exactly like any other vampire. Because of her foolish laugh, Vreihya focused her attention more intently on the deity in front of her. "You knew quite well that laying a single finger on him isn't needed to put both him and the child in danger," she laughed, looking at Vreihya with the same dismissive expression she always gives her.

As a result, Vreihya instantly looked behind her and noticed Mino and Kypper looking mystified. She was well aware that their minds were being manipulated right now. She clenched her fist and rushed up to the two. She tapped Mino on the shoulder and gently shook it. Mino appeared to come back to his senses almost instantly. "Listen to me, Mino, and I hope you have a strong mind," she said solemnly.

"I saw my parents! They are here to rescue me," Mino said, still disoriented, as Kypper began to scream. "Father! I won't do it again, don't hurt me!" the befuddled young wolf yelled as he collapsed to the floor, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"Leave the kid out of this!" grumbled the princess as the deity fixed her long and wavy white hair, which was slightly ruffled by the breeze. This place can view things from your past, present, and even fears and desires.

"In order to be totally welcomed by the sanctuary, a creature must face, struggle, and accept every part of their being," she simply explained.

"You knew it very well, Vreihya," she said, her cunning smile returning. The princess ignored her since there was nothing else she could do. This place is truly mind-bending, as she was well aware from experience. "So he's a human," the deity remarked coldly. "Wrong choice," she added.

"I know," the princess stated bluntly, causing the deity to smirk. As far as the princess knows, the creatures inside the sanctuary do not know anything about what is happening outside. They've completely cut themselves off from the vampire world. Everything relating to this has long since been abandoned.

All who enter this paradise must go through harsh mental trials to determine whether they have the ability to stay and how much they desire to give up everything they loved in the vampire world. They were silent for a few seconds, but the deity appeared to grimace as a result of what she saw about Mino.

"What in the name of the Goddess is this?" she questioned, puzzled, peering into Mino's eyes. Vreihya couldn't help but wonder why she was acting so strangely. "That's strange," the deity said, but it soon turned into a foolish laugh that the princess despised.

"What's that reaction for?" the princess said loudly. "I will enjoy playing with his mind," the deity said, and her silly laugh grew louder as she continued to keep her gaze fixed on the mortal, and with her gestures, Mino appeared to be a robot who removed the thick and long merchant clothing that he wore, revealing his masculine body behind the royal attire.

The fairy beamed even more when he removed the piece of fabric that was hiding his face. She couldn't deny the man's physical attractiveness. His almond-shaped eyes and dark brown eyes, as well as his heavy brow. His eyelashes are lengthy, and his nose is sharp. Those rosy lips and defined jaw line are remarkable.

Vreihya didn't like how the deity looked at her mate. "A really gorgeous man," the deity said right away. "He's mine!" Vreihya exclaimed, making the deity giggle. "No! Vreihya! I know you haven't totally accepted that thing yet; I can read through your deepest yearning and what ifs," the deity added, and Vreihya appeared to be silent.

"He will never be yours," the deity vowed forcefully, and the princess felt that she's unable to respond. She was fully aware that she couldn't keep anything from the deity of this place. She can discover everything. "He will never be yours until you believe that a human is unworthy of your love!" The princess appeared to be fixed in her position.

"He will never be yours until you want him to be Calix instead," the deity stated forcefully as she couldn't stop chuckling at the princess's inability to think clearly. She is aware of everything she believes that prevents the mortal from being entirely with her, and she is also aware that even Mino is not worthy of Vreihya as his mind is in that level.

"This is interesting! You're going to have problems with your future, while this magnificent mortal will have problems with his past!" The deity seemed perfectly content with the two creatures she beheld, but Kypper continued to cry as the cruelties he faced is playing on his head.

"You are indeed for each other! Both of you are mentally and emotionally shattered!" said the deity, as if she had discovered her new favorite toy. She's getting overly enthusiastic for this. She couldn't express how delighted she was to see the two and delve into every detail of their minds. She discovers more and more about each other's secrets. She uncovered something that even they were unaware of.

"I'll love our playtime," she laughed mockingly. She was enjoying herself when she became alerted of what appeared to be a severe wound on her neck. Her amusement was quickly overtaken by pain as she observed the princess by her side with a blood smear on her fingernail.

The princess choked and lifted her from where she was positioned before she could recuperate from her attack. "Before we begin to play..." the princess began coldly, her eyes flaming with rage. "...where are you?" she said firmly, as the deity gradually faded away, as if she had become a thin smoke that vanished into thin air.

"You caught my illusion," remarked the deity who was leaning against a large tree, unable to shake her adoration for the princess because she had captured the deity who was merely a clone of the one she is facing right now. As she wiped the blood of the phony deity on her clothes, the princess just gazed at her lazily.

"Welcome back, Vreihya, are you ready to finish what you started this time?" she asked seriously, her usual sneaky smile resurfacing.
