It was morning, but the sky seemed gloomy as heavy clouds covered parts of the sky. It felt like it was going to rain.

"I hope the boss gets here before it rains." Esther commented while preparing some marinate for the steak she would be using for lunch.

"Oh, how I love morning rains! Especially one that falls between 3am and 6am." Joshua said beside her, rubbing a lemon against the counter with his palm as he had been instructed. "That always meant a holiday back in my childhood."

Esther chuckled, shaking her head. "Lazy ass."

They had had breakfast, and Esther wanted to prepare something special for the guests, as she knew Derek would come with Rory and her mother.

"I really missed that blonde girl with those turquoise eyes of hers." She breathed with a smile, now soaking the steak in the marinate with her gloves hands before covering the glass bowl with a plastic wrap.
