Jeremiah drove Derek and Luke to the station later that morning. Luke could walk alright, but not so fast as his wounds were not completely healed. So they took their time in getting to the last cell where his former master was held. Five of the officers followed, three of them leading and two of them following behind.

As they approached the cell, Luke's heartbeat picked up speed. He was nervous because he knew the kind of person George was, and the things he could do.

He could be putting his life in danger right now for coming here to confirm his identity. But who cares? He had already signed his death warrant the first day he decided to work for him.

He would have died by his hands anyway, even if this didn't happen. That was what George did to all his other puppets. When he felt like he was done with you, he would just kill you off like you never mattered to him. And indeed, no one mattered to him. Except himself.
