Chapter 80: Oh How Pitiful

 "It's quite a disgrace if you ask me... To see an archmage like you use a relic. I thought mages depend solely on their spells." I said, taunting him from afar.

 "Well then it is a good thing I didn't ask you"

He swirled his staff with the shield steadily in his left hand. He stabbed the staff deep into the ground and released his hand. 

 "Curse Field Projection." 

My entire body tingled instantaneously, we found ourselves under a very uncomfortable pressure, which was very disturbing. I could feel whatever spell he had just cast was a very dangerous one but I couldn't tell what exactly it was or where it was going to come from.

My eyes widened as my body was being swept away by Sera who quickly flew in to save me from the red and smoky teeth that tore out of the space behind me. We both tripped and fell with her lying above me. She immediately sprang up, but this was a time I was more focused on something else.
