Chapter 14: Fear And Ego

"Why were you hiding and scared? What did you do?" Anastasia asked furiously, to the drawn-out sword.
<I don't know how I can explain it. It's more like I can feel it in my head that you shouldn't be meddled with. I can feel it that you are powerful, powerful enough for me to cease to exist and I didn't want that>
I watched as the two have an intense conversation while I sat on the bent back of the crazy Knight that kept instigating Knight Denethor to do nonsense. The others knelt politely behind him. Even though they admired the might with which I defeated them before they could do anything it was nothing compared to how they looked at me as I held the unsheathed sword. But they dare not say a word since it was the order I gave.
"So you say your name is Siegfried the dragon slayer and you are not from this world"
<I swear I'm not, even back in my world, I clearly remember dying when I was human but all of a sudden my eyes opened to a new consciousness, with all the memories of my past, my powers. Like something was instructing me, I naturally knew I needed someone to be able to wield me for my power to harness.>
I would admit that ever since being with Ana, I've never seen such a worried expression on her face.
"And there are many others like you. From other dimensions like you?"
"Yes, in my journey with the Deith Maxnor I've met other interesting vassal weapons, even stronger ones. While I've met some from the same dimension as mine, I've also met others that I don't even know, like the vassal weapon that guy is holding." A whitish-blue ether hand materialised out of the sword and pointed to Denethor.
'What? That bastard has a vassal weapon too.'
Ana threw her face towards Denethor.
<He's even better hiding than I am, I bet he told his wielder not to bring him to your presence since the first time he met you seeing as he's not here>
"Goshujin ask about his vassal weapon."
'No'
"Why not?" She asked, feeling frustrated by my answer.
'Because I don't want unnecessary suspicions. We got to know that vassal weapons are summoned souls of past heroes of other dimensions. I don't know what you are intending but we won't find out by going around and asking for people's vassal weapons.'
"Then are we going to a dungeon?"
'Not that either.'
"You promised to help me!"
'Hey, Ana don't shout like that, I will help you find the rings, so let me do my thing without destroying my life before its starts.'
"My sisters..."
'...?' I looked at her with the 'That's what I said' face.
"Master, it is really impressive that you made a pact with the sword. It seems our plan was successful. Young Master, you see we were not trying to hurt you at all. We just needed to give you a little push." 'No matter how strong he is, a little whining will do, he will probably think its thanks to our fight that he was able to make a pact with the sword'
From behind the voice entered my ear.
'These bastards must still think they are talking to a kid.' I stood up, and the fall of my stool attracted my attention, dude was totally out of stamina. I took a careful look at all of them before asking.
"Which one of you spoke?"
They all pointed to a black-haired Knight, nothing impressive about him, even his look and presentation of self was ugly, I wonder if it is his ugliness that gave him the guts to talk or is it because I ended for them with one hit each.
"Stand up..." I said to him.
He slowly stood up, but bowing his head in... the shame of getting beat by a thirteen-year-old? That look was not that of shame, it was fear. They have never seen someone move so swiftly in their entire life, even I have not.
"How old are you?" I asked him."
"Eighteen."
"What?!" I shouted. "Ahhh!!!" I shouted again, in utter disarray I turned from here and there, frustrated. This guy is eighteen, a Knight, eighteen! Fantasy world sure has it good for them.
"Come closer." 'I'll show you what it means to be the elder.'
He slowly moved forward and bowed to his knees as he reached my front.
"Do you think you can beat me if you were to hold your sword?" I asked. He raised his head and looked at me.
As I said, they feared me but they were trained knights after all, as much as they feared what they saw, they burnt with a passion to deny fear and because of that, they used excuses like 'I will have beaten him if I didn't have my sword'. So I needed to crush their ego completely before I leave this place so they will have no guts whatsoever to speak to me like this guy just did nor see me as a child.
Looking at others, even though they were on their knees and bowing their heads, their eyes were saying something. Except for Denethor who seemed to be blaming himself with his expression.
"Looks like this won't end with one round. However, I worry about what the Duke will say. You all are precious Knight of this duchy I don't want you losing limbs and so on... but then regardless of the consequences lessons must be taught, and respect must be built. All of you, pick up your swords." I said and pull the jacket I was wearing and rolled my sleeves.
<Is master going to be using me? With Master's body and power, he does not need to even make a pact before he can harness my powers>
"Of course...but why the hell will he use you?" Anastasia replied the Siegfried the sword.
<Then is he going to fight seven armed knights with no weapon?>
"Who do you think my Goshujin is? Watch and learn Siegfried." Anastasia said while sitting on the tip of the sword's hilt.
They all stood up and hurriedly grabbed their sword and surrounded me while I was rolling my sleeve.
"Stop! It's enough!! Must you guys go this far?!"
The trembling voice was not what surprised me but the courage to finally speak up.
