Suyin glances towards the taller woman beside her; seeing as Meixiu seems to be in deep thought, she smiles at the people before shaking her head.
"This is my friend, Song Meixiu."
The name rang a bell inside people's minds, but they couldn't comprehend whether it was the same person they could think of.
Song Meixiu is notoriously known as the garbage daughter-in-law of the Zheng family. How could someone as powerful and wealthy as Jia Suyin, the young mistress of the Jia family, be friends with someone like that?
And worse, even bring her to a traditional and multi-million-yuan tradition for every antique collector.
"Ms. Jia, not to be disrespectful, but is she the known garbage of the Zheng family?"
Meixiu looks towards the man who asked Suyin the question. The man quickly steps back, seeing as Meixiu looks at him blankly. Suyin smiles yet again, a little wider than the first one, as she nods happily.
"Yes, that's Ms. Song."
Everyone is in shock. Ms. Jia called the garbage respectfully and even became her friend. The people around me looked towards Meixiu; their eyes laid an unexplainable expression.
Could it be that the young mistress of the Jia family was affected by this garbage, leading her to make such a statement?
But Suyin never addresses the underlying question people have in their minds. She went and looked at Meixiu, her smile brightening as she tugged at the taller woman's arms.
"Ms. Song, if you want, we can eat first."
She invited the taller woman, causing everyone to stop whatever thought they had before walking away and talking with their friends.
"Could it be that Ms. Jia is at gunpoint?"
"I don't think so; it could also be genuine."
"If the garbage daughter-in-law of the Zheng family can befriend the young mistress of the Jia family, then I can also be her friend."
Meixiu glances towards Suyin before smiling; her hand goes towards the smaller as she quickly pulls away a little.
"We can look around before eating."
Meixiu suggests, turning her back towards Suyin and not waiting for the woman's answer. Suyin felt sad when Meixiu removed her hands from her arms, but she didn't let her feelings take away their time.
After all, she invited Meixiu to show the taller woman that she could replace her wife, who seemed to not care about her.

The convention Meixiu and Suyin were in is the annual antique tradition of every antique collector in Jiangqiao.
Some people from other nearby cities also went to the convention, seeing the million-yuan antiques that every collector has. Last year, it was the Jia family who hosted the convention, but today, the second-largest antique collector hosted it.
This gathering also creates great networking opportunities with other people and potential business partners; that's why the Jia family always tries to make time to go.
Today, it was supposed to be Suyin and Grandma Jia, but a sudden problem needed to be addressed, which resulted in Suyin inviting Meixiu.
Grandma Jia encourages Suyin to invite the taller woman, even before a sudden problem happens because she wants to see how well the taller woman can distinguish between a fake antique and a real antique.
The event is about to start. Meixiu looked around the area and saw a few valuable antiques, while some were fake and had a small value.
All she could think in her mind was that many "antique collectors" had been scammed by some fake master.
But she couldn't blame them; they practically had been taught how to speak eloquently and gaslight rich people into buying nonsense things, believing it would give them good luck.
Suyin and Meixiu sat at the very front of the banquet hall, a few feet away from the stage where the host would present their most beloved antiques.
Suyin looks towards Meixiu, seeing as the woman anticipates the event before slightly leaning towards the taller woman.
"Ms. Song, have you found anything?"
Suyin asks, her hands lying on the table as she waits for the taller woman to answer. Meixiu glances at her before smiling, nodding a little as she leans in to say her thoughts.
"A few are valuable but not worth it."
Meixiu's breathing fan points towards Suyin's ear, which causes the smaller woman to blush at the sudden contact. Suyin quickly looked away, her hand covering her ear as she nodded frantically.
"It will rise in value after a few years, but I can see a small rise."
Meixiu said, her back leaning towards the chair. The lights suddenly turned off, and Meixiu's eyes fixed on the stage as a spotlight opened and a man stepped out on the stage.
Everyone clapped at the man, which he greatly loved as he smiled widely and waved at the people. His eyes went towards Meixiu and Suyin's table, seeing the young mistress with someone he didn't know.
Either way, he went up towards where the microphone was, silencing everyone. He heaved a sigh of relief as the lights turned on, seeing everyone's faces.
"Thank you so much for accepting the invitation."
Pan Liang spoke, his charming smile shooting out, causing all the women in the hall to blush. The Pan family is the second largest known antique collector, and they have a great connection with the Jia family.
The master of Pan even wanted to merge their families by arranging a marriage for Liang and Suyin. But his request would always be denied by Grandma Jia.
Although it will be an arranged marriage, Liang has a deep feeling for the woman. They have known each other since they were kids, and although Liang would always make fun of Suyin back then, his feelings grew into something.
Liang's eyes went towards Suyin, seeing the woman looking intently towards the unknown person beside her. He couldn't help but ball his fist, seeing as Suyin wasn't paying any attention to him.
He quickly said what he wanted to say before calling Suyin's name, which the woman didn't hear as she was in deep thought looking toward Meixiu.
Meixiu smiled and stood up, looking towards the smaller woman beside her and furrowing her eyebrows as she seemed to be in deep thought.
She sat back down, putting her hands on the smaller woman's forehead, causing Suyin to flinch at the sudden contact.
"Are you alright?"
Meixiu asks, and her eyes look worriedly towards the rich woman. Suyin's cheeks are painted red as she blushes in embarrassment before she shakes her head and stands up from the chair.
She quickly went towards the stage, causing the whole hall to erupt in cheers as Suyin took the stage. Liang smiled widely toward her and moved aside to give Suyin space.
"Thank you for inviting and still trusting the Jia family to help host this eloquent event. Today, as you all know, I went here with a friend, and she's here to help me choose what to take home."
Suyin said, looking towards Meixiu, to which the taller woman smiled and nodded. Everyone in the room gossips while looking towards the known garbage daughter-in-law.
"There's no way she can help Ms. Jia."
"She's probably doing this for money!"
"Yeah, I heard the family doesn't support her and her wife."
Suyin didn't like how everyone started to judge Meixiu; her eyes glanced toward the taller woman, and she saw how her face suddenly became serious. She quickly cleared her throat, causing everyone to stop talking.
Liang's eyes went towards Meixiu, his eyebrows furrowing, before looking towards Suyin, who seemed to want to slow down the gossip around the hall.
What did this woman do that Suyin even went her way to protect her?
