Chapter 39: 39

"This is the last known location of the target. We will look around and see if we find any clues about her whereabouts, ok." Jiraiya ordered as he was distracted by a bevy of women walking past, giggling while holding wooden baskets.

"And what is it that you will be doing at this time?" Naruto asked, following the man's gaze and understanding the man's intentions.

"Ahem. I will also scout out the town and check for clues on our target. Remember, this is what a lot of spy work involves." Jiraiya explained sagely as he ran after the horde of women, completely forming a contrast.

"Sigh. What a pain in the ass." Naruto sighed as he walked down the busy street carefreely, admiring the local shops and the tourist traps.

It had been a few days since they left the village to go and find Tsunade, and Naruto had begun to understand his godfather slightly.

While he may be trying to get back and connect with his godson, Jiraiya was too steeped in his perverted ways, that he couldn't stop himself when he saw a pair of fat lumps jiggling in front of him.

When Naruto asked for some tips and advice one day when traveling, Jiraiya adopted a thinking pose, his image making a wonderful scene with the green forest behind him.

"Naruto, I am going to give you a piece of advice that I have developed over the years, and I want you to keep it in mind throughout your life.

Listen carefully, 'cause I will only say it once. Are you ready?" Jiraiya asked the boy, who looked at the pervert with slight hope, that maybe he might say something sensible, for once.

"Ahem.

All size, makes the wood rise." With a light cough, Jiraiya expressed his life motto, causing Naruto to sweat drop, while a crow flew in the sky, calling out. "Aho, aho, aho."

Ever since then, Naruto had decided that his godfather was someone that was way too far gone, and it would be extremely difficult for Jiraiya to achieve his dream of connecting completely with his godson.

As Naruto walked the town street, he spread out his senses, his bloodline ability, Kagura Mind's Eye, coming in handy.

Ever since he remembered, he could sense people's chakras, making him think he was a sensor.

When he was young, the hate that was directed toward him was the only emotion he had experienced almost all day.

At first, even Hiroki didn't find it that unusual, but the day after Naruto awoke his Adamantium Chains, Naruto was assaulted by hundreds of different emotions from all around him.

It was through intense training that he was able to control what he perceived with his sensory skills, but it was hard. It was only after that day of awakening did Hiroki connect the dots of him having the Mind's Eye of Kagura.

Not only did the ability allow him to sense the chakra and emotions of those at a certain distance, but also perceive their actions, movement, and location if he focused on them.

Letting his senses spread across the whole town, Naruto sensed a few particularly high chakra signatures in his vicinity, making them prime targets for Naruto to check out.

Focusing on the first one, Naruto shook his head, seeing as it was someone he didn't recognize.

The next one, as well, was someone he didn't recognize, but the third one was a direct match with the Bingo Book entry.

Blonde hair, brown eyes, a violet diamond on her forehead, and one of the biggest racks Naruto had ever seen revealed the woman's identity as the strongest kunoichi, Tsunade Senju.

Making his way to the gambling den, Naruto removed his headband and combed his wild hair. Instantly, Naruto turned from looking like a fourteen-year-old to an eighteen-year-old.

His golden blond hair reflected the sun's rays, making it shine beautifully. The eyes of the ladies on the street roamed around his body, palpable lust rolling off their looks, as Naruto kept a small smile on his face.

Entering the gambling den, Naruto located the target playing a game of Big or Small, where she kept on losing time and time again.

Naruto sat in a corner far away from the target, quietly observing her, as he too gambled, having a lot of money to spend ever since he got the big fat paycheck from the Wave mission as well as the subsequent A rank missions.

For the next hour or so, Naruto watched the lady lose more than a hundred thousand Ryo, causing the casino owners to smile manically, all the while, the black-haired woman following Tsunade looked sad, but used to the huge spending of her master.

"Yo, Tsunade, fancy seeing you here." Suddenly, in walked Jiraiya, who instantly spotted his teammate, and shouted out loud.

"What are you doing here Jiraiya?" Tsunade shot a look at the middle-aged man, as she looked around her in surprise. No doubt looking for any ninjas that might have surrounded her unknowingly.

"Oh, I was traveling around and seeing the various hot springs in the town when I felt like gambling for a while. I didn't think I would see you here. It's been so long since we saw each other. What was it, like 15 years since we last met? Come, have a drink on me." Jiraiya joyously approached Tsunade as he gestured to a waiter to bring some sake for the table.

"What are we playing? Sic Bo?" Jiraiya comfortably sat down next to Tsunade, pushing Shizune to the side, as she respectfully backed away.

"Why are you really here Jiraiya?" Tsunade weakly asked the man, as she drank a cup of warm sake, her eyes gaining a sad look, and her body oozed depression.

"Sigh. Nothing gets past you, does it?" He sighed after a while, seeing that Tsunade wasn't backing down from the question.

"Some new information has come to light. Something that had been going on in our village."

"Your village." Tsunade interrupted.

"Yes. Something that had been going on in the village for a long time. Apparently, sensei didn't know about it, and he too fell victim to a person's schemes, much like the other hundreds from Konoha." Jiraiya summarised.

"And what does that have to do with me? You do realize that I'm no longer a ninja of the leaf."

"I know you want to believe that, but your actions so far say otherwise," Jiraiya added with a small smile.

"Sensei wants you back in the village. He wants to make you the new Hokage." Jiraiya dropped the bomb, making Shizune and Tsunade to be stunned in shock, the dice in Tsunade's palm clattered to the floor.

"Are you guys mad?" She asked in disbelief.

"I don't think so. But, the village needs a new Hokage, and you are the only one that can take on the position now."

"You really must be mad if you think I'll even consider it. Shizune, let's go before his stupidity passes on to me." Tsunade sneered as she got up and began leaving.

"What did I say Jiraiya, she really is some old hag that's past her prime. Someone so weak-minded can never be anything in this world. Just look at her, splurging her disciple's hard-earned money on gambling, and not even feeling remorseful, I wonder what the Hokage was thinking." Naruto walked toward the table and said loud enough for her to hear his words.

"What did you say, you brat?" Tsunade turned around angrily, her fists clenched together tightly, as she took in the sight of the boy in front of her.

"You heard correctly, you hag. You are nothing but a weak-minded, selfish hag that is spitting on the graves of all those that sacrificed their lives for you, you are even doing it right now with your disciple. I cannot see you having any feelings for anyone other than yourself. You are not fit to even be considered a candidate for the Hokage position.

I'm guessing it was pity from your sensei that allowed you to roam across the land without being branded a traitor to the village. Pitiful." Naruto spat out; disgust apparent on his face.

The more he spoke, the angrier Tsunade got, as she began charging up chakra in her fists.

"What are you doing Naruto? Why are you making her mad?" Jiraiya panicked, afraid for the safety of the boy.

"You have no idea what you are talking about boy. And don't pretend to know anything about me. Speak another word, and I will punch you to the next town over." Tsunade gritted her teeth, as she controlled her temper, and stopped herself from rushing ahead.

"Oh really. Real mature, you hag. You know, you are nothing but a burden to this world. Why don't you just end yourself, instead of making everyone around you miserable, huh? You can at least help out this world in your death." Naruto goaded her, causing her temper to shoot through the roof.

"That's it!!!" Tsunade rushed forwards, the ground under her heels cracking, as she launched a punch at the blond.

"NARUTO!!" Jiraiya tried to block her attack but was too late in reaching, as Tsunade's fists crashed into the young boy's chest.

BAMMMMMMM

Like a cannonball, naruto shot off from his spot, crashing through the casino's roof, blasting a huge hole, as all the patrons of the casino ran away, afraid of getting caught up in the mess.

"Tsunade sama!!!" Shizune yelled out in panic, her arms squeezing the pink pig in her arms tightly, as Tsunade looked at the spot with fear and panic.

'What did I do?? No, No, No!!' Tsunade was stunned, standing rooted to the spot, as she spotted the small droplets of blood on her fist.

"Naruto!!!" Jiraiya yelled out as he rushed towards the boy, who crashed into the road outside, creating a huge crater and a massive cloud of dust.

Here's the chapter for today. The Tsunade Retrieval Arc has started.

Also, some people suggested that I use the timed release for the chapters in case I get caught up at work and can't upload on time.

But the last time I tried that with my other book, I ended up with five chapters that were mysteriously deleted, never to be found again.

So, just to be safe, I will manually upload the chapters, lest you guys end up reading hurriedly written crap that doesn't make much sense.

Enjoy.
