Chapter 33: We are here to help you
Just then, Emma heard the knocking sound on her door.
"Young mistress, we are here for help." A voice sounded from behind the door.
Emma wondered why the staff had decided to knock on her door. She knew that the housekeeping team had strict instructions not to disturb them. It must be something crucial for them to break protocol.
Emma got up from the bed and walked towards the door, trying to gather her thoughts.
She opened the door and, there they were, a group of housekeeping staff, looking curious and happy.
"What's wrong?" Emma asked.
The housekeeping in charge said, " Young mistress we are here to help you and we have an important message for you from your mother-in-law."
"Oh, what message?" Emma was startled, by a message from their mother-in-law, curious!
As the head housekeeper handed her the envelope, Emma couldn't help but wonder why she didn't receive a personal message instead.
Nonetheless, she eagerly opened the envelope which was given to her.
Emma's in-laws, who have always preferred a quaint village life over the bustling city, hail from the northern region of Pakistan. Their love for nature is evident.
With a reach of her arm, Emma took hold of the envelope and tore it open.
As Emma tore open the envelope, the head housekeeper's sudden remark left her inquisitive, "Young mistress madam instructed to give you this envelope when you are alone."
Ahh!!!
Why?????
The housekeeper's words echoed in her head, leaving her wondering.
Emma couldn't help but ponder if there was some sort of threat to her life mentioned in the letter.
"Okay," Emma replied apprehensively.
The head housekeeper sensing her distress comforted her by adding, "Young mistress you must be exhausted after last night, and you don't have to do anything as long as we are here."
