Nie Shaoqing glanced up at the duke, he was shocked to hear the duke bring this up. He nodded when he saw the relaxed smile on the Duke's face.

"Yes, father," he replied calmly. Nie Shaoqing spoke with the Duke l about other relevant matters. The Duke seemed to be more relaxed around him, they spoke at length about the court for a short while.

Nie Shaoqing was dismissed when the steward reported that the Duke had a guest. Nie Shaoqing was in high spirits throughout the walk back to his courtyard.
