Chapter 57: A gilded cage

Banxi pavilion, Liqiu's room.

'Is that..... The third prince. Oh my, he must be here to see Liqiu. Wow, Liqiu is so lucky, how many people like us have met royalty", she arranged her clothes and ran over excitedly.

Laquan held out his hand to block her as she got closer to the third prince. Xiaolian stepped back, she shivered as her eyes fell on the half-drawn sword. 

"Um__ I __ that is," she glanced at the door into Liqiu's room, "I am sister Liqiu's maid".

"Oh," Xiang Chao smiled and tapped on Laquan's wrist. "My apologies", he said as Laquan brought down his sword. 

"It is alright, let me inform Sister Liqiu that you are here," she replied with a smile.

"Sure," Xiang Chao stepped aside for her, she gave him an apologetic smile as she opened the door halfway and went in.

While she was out Liqiu had set the embroidery aside due to the pain from her wound. She had twitched the embroidery for a book of poems.
