Chapter 139: One cure

They had to leave the bedroom eventually, despite Ivo's apprehension at such a blatant walk of shame. Davi reminded him that they also needed a shower, a towel bath didn't count.

"A change of sheets too," he added, wrinkling his nose. "Alina will give us hell if the room is still like this when she comes to bed."

Ivo's initial plan was to open the bedroom door and make a dash for the bathroom, but when he poked his head out of the doorway no one was looking in their direction. Alina was still staring blankly ahead with glowing eyes, and Thiago was nowhere to be seen.

Davi pushed him out the door with a hand between his shoulder blades. "Go on, she's not even looking at us."

That seemed too good to be true, so Ivo still ran into the bathroom, almost closing the door in Davi's face when he showed up behind him.

"Sorry," he said, pulling Davi inside by the forearm with an apologetic grimace.
