Liam spotted his grandfather without difficulty in the center of the activities. He always had this presence around him that could make the man stand out in a crowd.

But something else had caught his eyes once he turned his head to the woman beside the Count. She looked familiar. But it took him a few seconds to recognize her.

What was she doing here with his grandfather? And what happened to her? He could not stop his eyes from studying her appearance, starting from her face to the gown and shoes she wore.

It was not as if he thought she looked hilarious or anything like that. It was not what he was saying or thinking. On the contrary, it was the opposite.

If he was being honest, he believed she looked stunning. But, of course, he would not reveal that to anyone. He could hardly admit that to himself. But it did not mean that he was attracted to her. Now that thought was laughable.
