"Oh Ho-jin don't be silly. You know I might own a dance school, that doesn't mean it is the only business I'm into. You're a movie star and you own a jewelry company…."
"I didn't ask you to tell me what I do. I just don't see any need in transacting with you." Ho-jin replied gently with his disgust clearly visible.
"I'm sure Sir Ho-jin doesn't want to talk about this again Mr Yi." Han addressed Jang-mi's father who nodded gently.
"Please welcome the Yie family." Everyone's gaze was directed towards the grand stairs where the family holding the ball stood. Mr Yie stood with his wife next to him, holding his hands securely. Mr Yie was the one holding the ball and he was known to hold these types of events yearly for his own interests. He wanted to make new business partners and all so he would invite all rich and influential people in the city to have an opportunity to speak with them.
The Yie family walked down the stairs gracefully. The only person who looked like he was forced down to the ball was their second son who stood next to his mother.
"Thank you very much for attending this ball everyone. Please have a good time." Mr Yie said warmly and the party continued.
Mr and Mrs Yie moved around greeting every guest they encountered. After a talk with Mr Yi, Mr Yie and his wife walked towards Ho-jin with smiles on their faces which Ho-jin knew was fake.
"It is a pleasure having you here with us Ho-jin." Mr Yie smiled and Ho-jin nodded gently. "I hope you're enjoying our ball? I know it isn't exactly your type but you had to….."
"Sir Ho-jin had accepted your greetings all together Mr Yie. Please don't annoy him more by continuing." Han cut Mr Yie off which he took with a slight smile.
"Oh Jang-mi, it is nice to have you here too. I didn't know you would be here." Mrs Yie said to the lady who was gently sipping the juice and sitting next to Ho-jin.
"Thank you Aunt." Jang-mi replied sarcastically.
"Mother, father." They all turned to look at Eun-ji who rushed toward Mr and Mrs Yie, enveloping them in a warm hug. "I've missed you."
"Oh sweetheart." Mrs Yie kissed her daughter's cheeks lovingly and Eun-ji smiled.
"Do-yun come here." Eun-ji gestured to Do-yun who stood not far from them.
"It is a pleasure to be here tonight." Do-yun bowed at his wife's parents who smiled gently.
"Why don't you all enjoy the party while we go on greeting the guests? Eun-ji, we would like to see you after the ball alright?" Mr Yie smiled before leading his wife away, not waiting for a reply from his daughter.
"Oh my goodness. Ho-jin, you're also here." Eun-ji sat on Ho-jin's right which was opposite Jang-mi and she gestured to Do-yun to sit next to her.
Ho-jin let out a silent sigh before looking up at Eun-ji. "You didn't attend my wedding a few months back, that isn't fair. You've been a good friend since we were kids and yet you wouldn't attend my wedding. That's not fair." Eun-ji pouted.
"I was shooting a scene that day so I couldn't come over. And I had Han send gifts to you didn't I?" Ho-jin replied with his cold and nonchalant expression not leaving his face.
"Oh come on Ho-jin. You haven't changed a bit." Eun-ji picked a flute of champagne and sipped it gently, glaring at Jang-mi in the process.
Ho-jin looked at Do-yun who was staring at him like he had something to say but couldn't quite say it.
"Mr Do-yun. Is there anything bothering you? Sir Ho-jin hates glares for too long and he wouldn't want to be disgusted with you." Han said to Do-yun when he noticed his boss's expression after looking at Do-yun.
"Oh yes. Do-yun wanted to have a word with you. Jang-mi, why don't we excuse them." Eun-ji raised her chin and Jang-mi scoffed at the unspoken message Eun-ji had passed to her.
Eun-ji walked away with Jang-mi, walking towards the bar where different people stood.
"Just cut it out already Jang-mi. You know as much as I do that you can't have Ho-jin. He doesn't even have his eyes on you. So just quit it, stop trying to force yourself on him and look for someone else. After being disgraced at that party when you confessed your love for him, you haven't learnt your lesson yet." Eun-ji sat gently sipping her drink.
"And I don't see how that concerns you. You're married, face your man. Oh yeah I forgot. He isn't your man, you stole him from Seo-yeon." Jang-mi laughed mockingly. "For how long do you think you would keep on lying to him, Eun-ji? What a bad friend you are. After being friends with her for over fifteen years, you stabbed her back. Well it's not my business. Ho-jin is mine and there is nothing you can do about it. Don't try to make everything hell for me for your own good."
"My own good? At least I am still the best in our careers here." Eun-ji chuckled. "I don't see what you want to do in any aspect that would be hell for me. So don't even think about it."
"Yeah you're the best. You yourself can't stand and say that boldly and proudly because you know it isn't true."
"Neither can you." Eun-ji fired back.
"At least I didn't use people to get to the top position or you think I didn't know what you did to be where you are. To become the Empress of Stellar and also the music goddess."
