Ma-ri's car drove into her quiet estate after they were done shopping for some toys and foodstuffs.
Ji-hoon's gaze remained pinned on the window as he eagerly stared out to see their destination while Seo-yeon had known the so-called apartment Ma-ri called her house would either be a mini mansion or a mansion itself.
Ma-ri skillfully drove into a compound which she suddenly stopped as soon as she got to the gate. The security man who guarded the gate made his way towards her.
"Welcome home Miss Ma-ri. You haven't been home in days and three people requested to see you."
"Trash the requests. This is my friend Seo-yeon and she will be staying here for a while. Grant her entrance and don't disturb me with any request calls. I don't want to see anyone. If I want to, I would give them permits." Ma-ri said and the man bowed before opening the gates for her to enter.
"Why am I not surprised? This is your so-called apartment right?" Seo-yeon raised her brows as the car drove down the driveway and into the garage which had two other cars in it. A Toyota RAV4 and a Toyota Corolla.
"It kinda is one. It's a mini mansion I admit but it's more like an apartment to me." Ma-ri stopped the engines of the car and unlocked the door.
"Yeah it is." Seo-yeon snorted in half agreement, equally getting out of the car.
A maid rushed over to them and bowed gently. "Welcome home Miss Ma-ri."
"Get the things out of the car and take them to the kitchen." Ma-ri casually ordered the maid before walking out.
Seo-yeon carried Ji-hoon out of the car and looked around the compound. There was a garden in front of the house, next to the driveway. In the middle of the garden, stood a water fountain and some benches around it. Different colors of flowers were grown around the garden, beautifying the compound even more.
"Come on. I'm sure this isn't the first time you're seeing a luxurious house. You lived in one for 26 years of your life so get inside." Ma-ri smirked, earning herself a deadly gaze from Seo-yeon. "Alright alright. Just come in."
They all walked into the house and were welcomed by the beautiful sight of a luxurious living room. The walls were painted white with gold. The comfortable sofas in the room too were of the same colors. The 82 inches TV sat on the shelf just opposite the main door.
"Welcome to my abode. It isn't exactly what you were expecting, I know." Ma-ri chuckled and Seo-yeon rolled her eyes.
"Ae-cha, take Seo-yeon to Ji-hoon's room."
Seo-yeon looked at her with a raised brow.
"It is a room next to yours, don't worry alright." Ma-ri reassured her friend.
"Who told you I'm worrying? You call this place an apartment and yet it has over five rooms if I can guess. So dumb of you young lady." Seo-yeon rolled her eyes and followed the maid up the stairs.
She carried Ji-hoon into his room which was just made for a little boy. Ma-ri must have told the maid to take care of the rooms before their arrival.
"Momma, would we be staying here for a long time?" Ji-hoon asked and she nodded.
"For now, yes. I'm not sure yet alright."
He nodded and she kissed his forehead.
"Will you come down to watch cartoons?"
"Yes." He replied and she took him back downstairs to turn the TV on for him.
"I'll be back okay?"
Seo-yeon walked into her room and took a cold shower. She placed her bag on the bed and started unpacking. Using the opportunity to recheck the things she brought.
She made sure she arranged all her clothes in the wardrobe before she went down to cook. As she arranged the remaining clothes in her bag, she came across her favorite clothings back then.
They were couples outfits she and Do-yun used to wear on their anniversaries. At least he still agreed to wear them with her each anniversary for all those years. She took a deep breath before throwing them in the trash can.
As soon as she walked out of the room to the living room, the first voice she heard was that iuf Ma-ri's. "I thought you would never come out of the room again. I'm starving here so come cook."
"I wonder how Ge-un is going to marry a lazy wife like you. You don't cook or do anything in the house. All you do is beat him up and eat." Seo-yeon shook her head in pity and threw a pillow which landed perfectly on her face.
"I don't see how it is your business young miss." Ma-ri frowned. "I'm going to disappoint you someday and cook for you."
"Someday uhn? The only food you've ever made is noodles which even Ji-hoon himself can make while closing his eyes."
Seo-yeon rolled her eyes and Ma-ri launched herself at her making both of them fall to the ground and Ma-ri started punching her playfully. "Oh come on Ma-ri."
Wrapping her legs around Ma-ri, she wrapped herself around her. "That's cheating. Because you're flexible doesn't mean you should use it against me."
"We're using what we're good at. You're trying to beat me up and if I wrap myself around you there's no way you won't hit yourself. I'm being fair." She smirked and Ma-ri pouted.
"Let's just go cook." Ma-ri squeezed herself out of Seo-yeon's grip and they walked into the kitchen. "I really miss the fun Seo-yeon."
"Yeah. Me too."
