Chapter 14: Be strong for Ji-hoon's sake
Seo-yeon couldn't believe what she was seeing. She didn't and had never had a man except the three times Do-yun had had sex with her.
"Are….are you….sure this is right? I mean….I mean…Is it possible to be pregnant...with a child without real father?" Seo-yeon looked up at Ge-un who nodded negatively.
"So Miss Seo-yeon, I'm afraid after you've signed the papers, you don't have any right to get any money from Mr Do-yun. And in the restaurant, you're now expected to leave latest, in the next four days." Ha-eun gave her a paper which had what she just said written on it.
Do-yun grabbed Eun-ji, leading her towards the elevator. Eun-ji had this evil smirk on her lips. She looked satisfied before she turned around. Seo-yeon grabbed her son tighter sobbing.
"Where will I get the payment…..where will I get the payment for Ji-hoon's bills?" She choked and hugged her son tighter.
"It's okay Seo-yeon. Come here." Ma-ri took lifted her and lead her to the ward. She didn't stop crying. Her son knew the results were out and something wasn't wrong or else his mother wouldn't be crying.
"It's okay momma." Ji-hoon pat her chest as she sat down with him still in her arms. Seo-yeon looked down at her son with tears still falling from her beautiful brown eyes.
"What should I do? What will I do? I have just….just four weeks before his surgery Ma-ri. Where will I get money to pay for his bills? Please tell me what I can do? Even if I have to sell myself for him to do this surgery, I would." Seo-yeon yelled frustrated. "I did everything. Everything."
"It's okay Seo-yeon…"
"No it's not okay. It isn't okay at all." Seo-yeon screamed hugging her son tighter than ever. "What will I do if I lose Ji-hoon? If I can't find money for his surgery?"
"That's why you have me Seo-yeon. I promise to help you look for something. Even if I have to beg my father for it. Please don't cry again. Please be strong for Ji-hoon's sake. Please Seo-yeon." Ma-ri pat her friend's back gently as she buried her face in her son's arms. He was also trying to soothe his mother by patting her hair lovingly.
After thirty minutes of sobbing, Seo-yeon finally got a grip of herself and put Ji-hoon down. The boy looked at her with a raised brow to make sure she's okay. "I'm okay now sweetheart." She forced a smile and he knew she did so he took her face in his tiny palm.
"Momma used to tell Ji-hoon then that no matter what, he shouldn't cry and hope things would be better. Why aren't you holding on to that saying?" The little boy raised his brows and Seo-yeon finally smiled genuinely.
"Alright sweetheart. I would hold that form now on okay? Now go get some rest? You must be tired." She kissed his forehead and he nodded, walking towards the bed.
"What will I do Ma-ri?" Seo-yeon looked at Ji-hoon who settled in bed and closed his eyes to get some rest.
"First of all, we need to pack your things out of the building to my place by tomorrow or the day after. You've informed your customers that you would be leaving so that won't be a problem. We need to find you a job too which is really rare these days. To see jobs these days is mere luck. And seeing a work paying well is hard." Ma-ri sighed sitting next to Seo-yeon. "I'll help you look for jobs online, that would still be better."
"Yes it would." A sigh escaped Seo-yeon's lips as she stared into space.
"Now it is your talents you'll have to look for a way to build on. Your talents can't go to waste Seo-yeon." Ma-ri looked up at her friend who looked back at her.
"That is even out of the question Ma-ri. I would never go back down that road." Seo-yeon frowned. "Even if I want to it's been seven years. Seven years."
"It doesn't mean anything Seo-yeon. As long as you train yourself well. I know you still exercise every day so it won't be a biggie." Ma-ri smiled by Seo-yeon just rolled her eyes. "Oh come on Seo-yeon."
"Right now, what I'm confused about is how this happened. How did I have a child for another man I didn't know I slept with. I have never been raped before his birth, I never had se with any other man apart from Do-yun. There is something not clear yet still." Seo-yeon frowned looking outside the window.
"Here. We'll figure it out. Since you said yourself that you never had another man expect Do-yun and Do-yun isn't Ji-hoon's father. There's either something we don't know or there's a problem with the results." Ma-ri rubbed her chin confused. "Oh my goodness,this is mad."
Seo-yeon hummed and continued looking outside, her thought was all over the place. She looked more stressed and disturbed than usual.
After an hour of pacing and thinking, hacking systems and all, they found nothing. Nothing!! They both took their baths and decided to cool their heads while Ji-hoon was still asleep.
"Ma-ri…" Ge-un walked towards them hastily. "Did you pay for Ji-hoon's surgery?"
Ma-ri looked at Seo-yeon then at Ge-un. "No I didn't pay it?"
"Ten million won was sent five minutes ago and it was addressed to him." Ge-un frowned looking at the screen of his phone. He suddenly paused and looked at the sender again. He then realized the sender. "You girls should take care. Someone paid for the bills your son's surgery. And it wasn't Do-yun or anyone relating to him's details."
