"That was obviously part of the deal. He didn't cheat her one bit and mind you she signed two papers on the divorce file and the other for rejecting his properties."
Ha-eun reminded Ma-ri while Seo-yeon shook her head in disagreement.
"I signed both which had the heading of divorce papers. He should have given me a clue on every detail that was written on it and then see if I would sign it or not. He can't lie to anyone here that most of the money his company is making now was all thanks to me." Seo-yeon gritted her teeth, clearly making her statement heard.
"And that has nothing to do with….."
"It has everything to do with it Miss," Ma-ri immediately shut the lawyer up, "He's going to pay her the money for her son's allowance from the day they left and that of his surgery. He is the father of the child. He is responsible for his care despite having to sleep around with other women."
Ma-ri hit her fist on the table angrily. She was one of a violent lawyer when she speaks and that violence always works in her favor.
The opposite party wouldn't want to cross her part despite being a lady.
"You can't use violence in winning this Lawyer Ma-ri." Ha-eun said in a mocking tone. "These are rules already written and we know what…."
"Was it written in the book that the wife of a divorced man should be forced to sign a papers telling her that she refused his properties after investing over five billion won in his company. So since they divorced no matter what she should get back at least half of her shares no matter what." Ma-ri smirked. "You wouldn't say that is not in the book too. Now we aren't talking about Ji-hoon. We're talking about her shares."
"Lawyer Ma-ri, you can't use this way to win the case because when Miss Seo-yeon signed the papers for the company's share too, she signed the papers saying it all belonged to Do-yun and hers no more." Ha-eun threw her a file in reference to her logic which Seo-yeon picked and carefully read through.
"You cheat!" She cursed, "You said this was the papers that no matter what you do, I still own part of my shares. Do-yun you….." Ma-ri held her hand to calm her down which she did calmly.
"This is stupid. You drafted this paper's Lawyer Ha-eun and you know what you're engaging in right? Corruption. You are favoring the party that pays you more. Are you that poor?" Ma-ri raised her brows and Ha-eun shot her a deadly glare which Seo-yeon found to be surprising because the lady has been nothing but calm and professional all along.
"I am not engaging in corruption Lawyer Ma-ri. I'm simply doing the job I was sent by my client…."
"By adding two different things in the same contract? By adding two things that must be decided on separately in one contract, hiding it amongst the good ones. Wow, nice." Ma-ri sneered.
"Pardon me but Lawyer Ma-ri, I am just doing my job. I don't know what you're driving at but that is the contract and she signed it." Ha-eun clenched her fist.
"Doing your job right?" Ma-ri rested her chin on her knuckles with a smirk.
"I….I…"
"Good. I think that's really nice. That should keep you thinking if you really just did corruption." Ma-ri smirked and retracted her gaze to the cheat who hadn't stopped glaring at her.
"Do-yun, you would be paying a certain amount of money to Seo-yeon…."
"I won't pay her a dime. She isn't worth my money, no matter what you did to intimidate my lawyer, it can't work on me." Do-yun snorted, causing Ma-ri to laugh at his doubtful expression.
"Work on you? Intimidate you? I didn't intimidate anyone either. I'm just doing my job and she's just speaking out of guilt, that's all. You should be charged with adultery, you know that. That wasn't all, now on the personal level you cheated Seo-yeon for this brat right here to be at the top of the music industry."
"I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't commit any offense. It is a private matter. I choose to have sex with another woman while married to this fool right here because she doesn't satisfy me enough. I don't see how it concerns you at all." Do Yun frowned looking at his lawyer who hasn't said anything.
"Don't expect her to talk anytime soon." Ma-ri casually told him while smiling at his lawyer, "You might have been very long in this business Lawyer Ha-eun but you aren't as experienced as I am. I am smarter than you are and have my ways of making my opponent feel guilty and as for you Do-yun, I want you to admit it yourself and not by me forcing you to admit it."
Ma-ri smirked. This wasn't the first time Seo-yeon had seen her use this technique on someone but it felt more and more surprising each time she used it.
"There is nothing you can do this time Ma-ri. She isn't going to take out any of the company's shares or anything from this house. She should be lucky she took something out the last time she stepped foot into this building." Eun-ji frowned.
"There is something I can do. I'm a very powerful and influential lawyer…."
"And you choose to deal with a lowly case like this?" Eun-ji raised her brows mockingly.
"I can sue the company and there's nothing you can do about it." Ma-ri smirked in accordance with her words.
"I won't pay a dime to her or her son because Ji-hoon isn't my son." Do-yun spilled, dropping a file before the two frozen women, "And his DNA doesn't match mine."
Seo-yeon grabbed the file before them and opened it, scanning through the content, unwilling to believe what had been said to her. "You think I'm a fool? Do I look like one? This is fake! Fake!"
"How about we go to the hospital and do another test? That should clear everything up once and for all."
