I dried myself with a towel, hung it up, and then headed to the bedroom in the nude. Still no sign of Rhett. I didn't know whether to be relieved or disappointed. Shit, my phone. Technically, it was his phone because it was company property, but I was confused, not only about being sacked but about the generous offer he'd put in the package. It was ten times my salary even though it should've been a lot more, seeing that he was sacking me with no good cause. I worked damn hard to please his miserable ass.

Stacey was right-I didn't even know why I was attracted to him. He spoke to me in single syllables, and his emails were no better. They had the same tone.

I took a deep breath and stopped facing out the window. The view from there was breathtaking, not as much as from the hot tub, with the open skyline and the buildings, but it was still away from the noise and hustle below in Manhattan.
