Chapter 13: Friend Or Foe
While Lan Xiang was remembering his master Lan Yue asked him something which brought Lan Xiang back to the reality from his memory lane in which he was reminiscing time when he was being trained by his master.
Lan Yue : "Father please tell me something about your master."
Lan Xiang :"Yue'er you want to know about my master."
Lan Yue : "Yes father."
Lan Xiang : "Okay I will tell you about my master."
Lan Yue : "My master is the best master in this entire world for me. He not only gave me the martial arts training but also gave very good lessons about life and humanity."
Lan Yue : "Father what kind of person is your master ?"
Lan Xiang : "He is the best person in the world. He loved me a lot and gave me so much caring that I can not describe in words. This is something that you can only feel and can cherish for your entire life. He always gave me good lessons about life, how to be good with everyone and how to see good in every person even if that person is full of so much of evil."
Lan Yue : "Father what he has taught you about martial arts ?"
Lan Xiang : "Yue'er what ever I know about martial arts and all things I am teaching you right now is also coming from my master. He always showed me that with immense believe in myself and sheer focus I can learn any moves and techniques without any problems. So Yue'er my son I am also telling you to have believe in yourself and have a sheer focus and learn anything you want from the nature and you will one day surpass me in martial arts."
Lan Yue : "Okay father I will do what you have said and from right now I will start practicing my martial arts moves from the nature."
After finding words of encouragement from his father Lan Yue sat in a meditation pose and started meditate to gather the natural energies inside his body and also some kind of peace which only nature can give anyone.
After his son started meditation Lan Xiang also joined him and started meditating himself. They have started meditation for quite some times and after meditating for ten minutes they opened their eyes and started practicing martial arts again.
Lan Xiang showed his son some his techniques by using which he has harnessed his moves and martial arts by learning and establishing a connection with the nature. This particular teaching session for Lan Yue have made him more fascinated towards nature and natural martial arts his father was doing. So he gave immense attention towards it and started thinking about his own learning.
Lan Yue started to look for nature and natural elements from which he can gain some inspiration to learn more about the martial arts which his father was talking and teaching him. He looked at the waterfall, river, mountains, trees and animals from which he can learn about more natural abilities.
Then the father and son duo started their practice for some more time. But unbeknownst to them in the place where they were practicing their martial arts deep inside the mountains someone claded in black robe watching them silently without making any noise and without letting anyone know about his presence in that place. He was standing on top of a mountain and was watching them while making a poker face without any expressions and without any emotions.
At this time no one can say whether that person is friend or foe for the Lan family and their beloved village towards which each of their villagers have great love.
The black clothed man has always been looking at the father and son duo practicing at the mountains for the whole time whenever they practice.
This mysterious person looked at their practice for sometimes again and then left towards his mysterious hideout.
The father and son then left for their home after finishing their training at around 7.00 pm in the evening. While returning home both of them had a little race to find out who will reach home first.
It is their everyday routine to have a little race after training while returning home and every time they had a race the winner was always been Lan Xiang.
Lan Xiang was the racing champion of their village while Lan Yue was the second in number to finish race and also the second winner after his father.
This time also Lan Xiang won the race but this time something unexpected happened which surprised both Lan Xiang and Lan Yue.
This time Lan Yue has closed the time gap between them to just one second which was really very surprising yet pleasant for both Lan Xiang and Lan Yue.
But still Lan Yue lost the race but he thought that now he was getting a chance to surpass and defeat his father in both martial arts and race.
After reaching home Lan Yue asked his father a small favour, "Father if you don't mind can I ask a favour from you."
Lan Xiang : "What is it my son ? You can ask me for anything at any time."
Lan Yue : "Father I want to bring my friends from tomorrow onwards to our training so that they can practice and be prepared for our school sports competition."
After hearing his son's small request Lan Xiang replied,
Lan Xiang : "Of course son you can bring your friends for the training. I will be very happy to help them for the sports competition preparation."
Lan Yue : "Thank you father, thank you so much. I am glad that you have accepted my favour and you are also willing to train my friends. You are the best."
Then both of them head towards the kitchen as they were looking for Zhen Lu. She was preparing their dinner for the Sunday night. When she saw that both her husband and son has returned from their training she was happy.
Lan Xiang asked his wife what she was making for the dinner as the smell the food was very pleasant and enjoyable.
