Chapter 40: Suddenly disappeared Nagpa.

He can only see the figure of a woman.  But who else will be sitting on the edge of the lake with his feet immersed in the night?  Who else is there except for such an arrogant madman? What does the girl do? Nagpa went towards the lake, slightly ignoring the fear in his head.  And we are standing there watching everything.

 Nagpa called out, "Baijanti."

Hearing Nagpa's call, the woman slowly turned away and at that moment, an explosion of fear shot through our consciousness.  We lost the ability to move.

Nagpa stared at the woman like a stone statue.  He forgot to close his eyes.

The woman slowly came forward.  His brows furrowed in annoyance.  He raised a hand with great delicacy and touched with a finger between Nagpa's eyebrows.  Nagpa fell to the ground like a banana tree. A bird called in a shrill voice. That call spread like a wail from corner to corner of the mountain.

We saw these scenes from a distance.  The woman is standing next to Nagpa's lying body.

Mr. Haldar said, "Colonel, let's go, we have to save Nagpa. I don't know what that woman is doing with him?"

Can't go there now.  That woman is standing there.  I think he knows magic. If we go, we will also be trapped.  Better to check everything first from here.

I said, "You're right. If we go there will be a lot of trouble. If we get trapped there will be no one to rescue us."

We hid for a while and watched.  The woman is casting a spell on Nagpa.

What a strange aroma around.  That fragrance is slowly growing again.  We could not imagine what this fragrance was.

At one point I asked the Colonel, "Well Colonel, you have seen Baijanti. Is the woman in front Baijanti?"

I can recognize it if it is in front.  But the whole face of the woman is covered by her messy long hair.  His face doesn't look good. If it was Baijanti then why would he do this with Nagpa?  What do you want to subdue him?

We listened carefully to what the woman was muttering.

Mr. Haldar said, "The woman is casting a spell on Nagpa. But why?"

We don't know the answer to this.

After a while, a huge cyclone started over a certain place.  Not where we stand. Only where Nagpa and the woman are. What a great storm!  If that storm hit the area, all the houses would be blown away. Fear is building a new nest inside the chest.  That storm did not last long. About 3 minutes. In these 3 minutes, our condition was completely ruined by the scene that happened in front of us.

We were surprised when the storm stopped.  That woman is not there. I looked down and saw that there was no snake.  The storm that happened there is not understood. The forest began to resound with its own sounds.  The buzzing of insects all around. The water that was standing on the leaves began to fall down this time.  That fragrance is gone. We were amazed to feel and see these scenes.

We went to where Nagpa was lying.  But there is no such sign. It seems nothing happened there.

Mr. Haldar said, "Where did that woman go with Nagpa? And how did she go so quickly?"

"That we must find out now," said the colonel.

 Who is that woman?

This question came to our mind again and again.  I couldn't find any answer.

I said, "Where shall we look for the Nagpa. In such a big and terrible forest, where did he take the Nagpa?"

We had a good look around.  Nothing suspicious was noticed.  We also went to the lakeside. I also searched where the woman was sitting with her feet submerged in water.  So cold water!

How did he dip his feet in the water?

So what is he not human?

The colonel said, "I can't say that. It might be people."

 So is it ghost?

 I don't know that either.

We had a good look around the lake.  I could see nothing but the forest and the cold clear water of the lake.  Can't think of what to do?

 It's midnight.

Mr.Haldar said, "It is not good to wander in this thick forest at night. You never know when danger will come from. It is still a winter night and there is thick fog all around. Nothing can be seen well. Not even the light of a torch can penetrate this thick fog. The cold might make us sick. So let's get back to the car."

I said, "You're right. We go back to the car like today. I'll have a good look for Nagpa tomorrow morning. It won't do to search this late."

We left for the car.  As much as I was afraid when I entered the forest, I didn't have the time to return.  The chirping of various insects around and the water falling from the trees created a new kind of sound.

We carefully entered the car.  The road we are on seems to have no traffic even during the day.  Small bushes have grown here and there on the road.

All three of us lay down.  I don't know what Mr. Colonel and Mr. Halder are thinking.  But some questions are lurking inside our minds.

Who took Nagpa?  Why took? Where did it go?

I do not have the answers to these questions.  Sometimes it seems that someone has kidnapped Nagpa?

What's the point of kidnapping him?  He is a poor man. Does he have what the kidnappers want from him?

As long as I was awake, these questions were swirling in my head.

Then I can't tell when I fell asleep.

Early in the morning I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the Colonel's call.  When I got up, I saw Mr. Halder and Mr. Colonel had already gotten up and were ready.

He told me, let's go quickly to find Nagpa.  I do not know how the poor Nagpa is now and where is it?

 We have to find Nagpa.

When I was entering the forest with Nagpa at night, Nagpa was saying that there are wild boars in this forest.

We also broke three sticks from the bush like Nagpa to escape from wild boar.

What a surprise!  How beautiful is the forest that becomes so terrible at night in the day.  Beautiful colourful flowers bloomed on the trees. Although the sun's rays could not penetrate the forest due to the fog, the forest still looks very beautiful.  Monkeys are hanging on the tree branches. They started frowning at us. They began to think that we had come to catch them or drive them out of the forest.

 What beautiful scenes.

We stepped forward in surrender.  I did not see any sign of people anywhere.  Distant objects could not be clearly seen due to fog.  We walked to the edge of the lake. I went to where the white clothed woman was sitting.  Searched there in broad daylight. It is not clear who was sitting there.
