Chapter 89: The Appearance of the Captain

Yami watched Lothario struggle to add pressure to his neck to stop the bleeding. 

"Don't fight death. Let it come to you," Yami whispered and kneeled beside Lothario's body, watching him enter the land of the dead.

"Y-you weakling..." Lothario's eyes turned lifeless, and his body stopped twitching.

Yami didn't say a word and just smiled at him. He glided his hand over Lothario's face and closed his eyes. "May you rest in peace."

Yami glanced at the black halo. He remembered that he couldn't take Nicolo's halo before. He grabbed Lothario's halo, which to his surprise, took without effort.

"So their halo loses its power once the wielder is dead," Yami thought and gazed at the black halo in his hand. He put it inside his inventory, along with the Stygian vessel he found in Lothario's neck.

At the same time, a portal appeared in front of Lothario's dead body. Yami immediately teleported far from the location before Marzia appeared.
