Chapter 2: THE NEW GIRL
LUCAS'S P.O.V
Parking my car next to my friends. I get out when my wolf, Ace, began to get troubled. I was confused about what was happening to him because he usually is calm(for most of the time). That's when I smelled a delicious fragrance. Which was a mix of flowers and some sort of sweets?
"Go towards the scent," my wolf instructs me.
Walking faster and faster towards the scent in anticipation. I make out a girl's silhouette.
"mate, mate, mate" Ace screams in joy.
I quickly rushed to her and hugged her from behind while Ace kept repeating happily:
"our mate, our mate, our mat-
Suddenly I am slammed onto a locker and my mate is holding me threateningly by my chest.
Puzzled. I observe her, properly, noticing something different about her scent and that Ace isn't able to detect her....a look of shock is plastered on my face.
She is a human.
My mate is a human.
I then hear the most captivating voice." Who are you, What do you want?" she asked glaring at me.
"She looks so hot"my wolf comments.
"Really?" I roll my eyes.
I catch her staring behind towards Jax, Blake, and Lily. They looked-umm- shocked.
I mean, you know, seeing their alpha pinned to a locker is pretty shocking, I am sure they are perplexed(like me).
I mind liked them"Don't worry, Don't do anything she is just my mate"
"She is a human right? "blake asked(more like stated)me.
"Yes, I will tell you everything afterwards"
I look back towards my mate and witness her panicked eyes. I feel a prick in my chest learning that she is scared of me.
"I am sorry I mistook you for someone else," I speak in a soft voice to relax her. she stares at me and then lets me go.
"I apologize for slamming you into the lockers but it was your mistake for running and suddenly hugging somebody,"
I laughed and responded"No problem. However, I must say you are pretty strong"
''Really! is that what you are going to say to your mate" Ace mocks me.
She seems offended so I guess Ace was right. I run away with my friends before she can say anything to hurt my fragile heart.
"Yeah sure, you're 'fragile heart' "my wolf teases me.
"shut up!"
We go to our class and before my bottom touches the seat, they all start interrogating me.
"She is a human so it's impossible for her to even shove you so how? "Blake questioned me.
"I don't understand, I am rather sure she is a human but what I am stumped about is why would the moon goddess give me a human as a mate?"
Jax starts agreeing with me"I know right?"
"I-I think I have to R-Reject her, "I sense my wolf trying to argue but he sadly agrees.
They look at each other and give me pity-filled looks.
"Luc-
The door opens and the professor enters so we all stop talking.
"Luce, don't do anything rash, first talk to James" Lily mind-links me.
"but-
"No buts just listen to me"
"okay"
Some background information on me:
I am the to-be Alpha of The Blood Moon Pack, my mom is the current alpha of the pack after my father(no, he did not die)left the position. she was criticized a lot because she was a woman, and a few packs tried to attack her with foolish thoughts in their head like:
'Without a man, A pack is weak'
But she killed them all with the help of pack members who trusted her and were loyal after my dad left the position. Gradually, she turned an ordinary pack into one of the most powerful packs.
My mother had told me I could become the Alpha of the pack after finding my mate. It is not obligatory but it has been an old tradition for the Alpha to find his/her mate because it signifies not only strength for themself but also for the pack.
My brain is in jumbles as it is rare for werewolves to have humans as mates. (not impossible but rare still)

I listen to someone entering the class and look up to see my mate talking to the professor.
"Hello, You are the new student right?"
"Yes, I am sorry, I was late because I couldn't find the class"
As he looked up and down at her, he said."Hmm, No problem introduce yourself,".
What the hell is he staring at?
She looks distressed but replies."Hello! my name is Anne and I- "
"Okay Anne, you can sit anywhere that a seat is available" He interrupts her smirking.
My wolf gets enraged because somebody dares to disrespect her and is about to teach the mannerless bastard a lesson when Lily mind links me.
"Calm down, he is not a werewolf,"
A woman knocks on the door and glares at the professor. He leaves in hurry and tells us to do the problem on the board till he returns.
like I am going to do them!
I am still calming my wolf down so he can't (unfortunately) destroys someone's pathetic existence and watch Anne.
Obviously to calm myself down.
"Awww, She looks so adorable finding a seat"my wolf comments.
"That's true"
She sits beside Stacy, she isn't the best person t-
"Oh my God! are you poor? what are you wearing?"
There she goes again, she was supposed to be the gamma and she had the capabilities but thanks to her overconfidence(and some dirty tricks), she was disqualified and failed.
Anne snickered which made her even angrier.
"HEY! BITCH WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?" I can see her veins popping out from her neck in rage.
"What did you call me?"
Stacy smirks "A Bitch"
"Bitches do what they are told don't they?" my mate says grinning.
Lily starts laughing and the rest of us are trying very hard to hold it in though there are chuckles thrown here and there.
Anne turns around to look at Lily, first with contentment of some kind? then with confusion? and finally with realization as she turns towards us.
"Looks like she recognizes us" Blake mind links me.
"You fucking attention-seeking whore" Stacy screams at her.
I and my wolf get furious and growl at Stacy, speaking to her through the mind link.
"Stacy if you insult her again I will make sure you will never be able to talk again"
"but i-
"I said SHUT UP"
She shuts up almost immediately to which Anne seems perplexed and circles around glancing to find me staring at her.
She has the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen.
She looks conf-no-strained? and turns around slowly to... face the professor.
Ah! that asshole came back.
Now I know the reason why the class suddenly became quiet.
"What did I tell you? To be quiet and do the work. NOW YOU BETTER BE QUIET OR ELSE YOU WILL BE SENT TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE THE NEW STUDENT OR NOT"
She nods whereas I on the other hand am trying so hard to control my wolf(and myself)so that war doesn't commence here.
"I want to get to know her she seems cool " Lily mind links me.
"Sure, get to know her and with Jax find where she lives."
The bell rings and I go to the principal's office. He is one of the old omegas of our pack also like an older brother or uncle as he orders me to call him. This school contains both humans and werewolves, it was his wife's wish to have a school(she was a teacher) where there will be both humans and werewolves together. (weird wish but he loved her)
My mom was against this but he convinced her by stating that this could also be a good cover from the humans.
I knock on the door and enter hearing him answer.
He bows to me."Hello Alpha"
"I am not the Alpha yet principal James"
He smiles"But you will be."
"You don't need to bow to me, you are older than me and kind of like, you know, my family."
He smiles and nods at me" So what do you need Alph-"
I raise my eyebrows at him.
He sighs in defeat."Okay, I give up. Lucas so what do you need?"
"I found my mate and-"
"That's great! who is she or he?"
"That is kind of the problem, she is a human, no offense"
"None is taken and why does that pose a problem?"
"I am going to become Alpha of one of the powerful packs. What if I can't protect her? What if someone kidnaps her? What if they do something to her?. I met my soulmate, someone who I was waiting for all this time after listening from people how nice it feels... b-b-but to be forced to reject her."
He listens patiently to my rant and then answers.
"When I found my Babara, she was like a small ray of light after the rainstorm for me. At that time it was impossible for us to have humans as our mates. but I knew deep down, no matter how much I rejected the feeling that she was the one. I befriended her and then after a while, we started dating. m-maybe I become too comfortable and told her about me being a werewolf. s-she looked so terrified. I-I-I-
I held his hand and felt it quiver under me. Looking up at me, he smiles gently thanking me.
"She went-no-ran away that day it felt like my whole world was crushed. After a month I lost hope. I will never forget how she came back drenched in rain. like in those romantic movies".
He laughed smiling widely." saying how she felt regretful about how she reacted and that she loved me."
He paused reminiscing, his eyes glistening, and continued.
"I gazed at her in pain wondering if it was a dream and fell on my knees crying while she embraced me repeating that she was sorry. You know the rest of the story about how my pack rejected me and your mother saved me."
Did I forget to mention that his mate was a human?
I scratch my head and asked, "I don't understand what it has to do with me?".
"I am telling this to you because it will damage you a lot if you reject your other half, a soul of your own. It was one of the most dreadful experiences for me and I have been in a rouge war before. And your mate even if she is a human. She will still feel the connection. About protecting her, Babara learned to protect herself by learning to fight because she understood I couldn't protect her every time."
I smile at him and ponder about it for a while.
"Can you please tell me her schedule?"
He stares at me pointedly and remarks"Things people do for Love"
"I wonder? Who fell on their knee when someone confessed their love, "I say teasing him.
"You brat! I regret revealing my story now," He speaks angrily though I don't fail to notice the smile on his face.
"It's the new student right?" he states rummaging through the drawers.
I nod still smiling.
I mind link her schedule to Lily and drive back to my house to tell my parents about my mate.
My house is surrounded by many other pack houses where several people live. My 'fake' house consists of me, Lily, Jax, and Blake. This house is where I live together with them and is a cover for the humans. My real home is the one I am driving to currently.
There are hospitals and nursing homes for pregnant women and children. There are training grounds along with weaponry as well as safe hideouts installed with weapons everywhere in case of a surprise attack. (my mother is a meticulous person).
There is a whole lot of other stuff but I don't want to bore you.
Now you may be wondering how we get money for the pack and all the other essentials. It is because of my mom's business's furthermore there are a lot of pack members who are successful entrepreneurs which helps us even more with the finances.
I reach home and go to find my mom and dad (like I said he is not dead).
"Hey! Mom where are you? I have to talk to you about something?"I mind link her.
"In the office Lucas" she replies after some time.
"Dad, can you come to mom's office?" I mind link him too.
"I am in there Honey," he responds.
I head to the office and enter.
"didn't I tell you to knock on the door?" she scolds me
"but didn't you tell me to come?"I joke around.
"leave him, baby, he is still a child." my dad tells her.
Yes, I knew dad wou-wait what! a child!
"You call a person over six feet: a baby" she responds, rolling her eyes.
"Whatever, can you come on the sofa? I have something important to tell you," I request not at all mad that I was called a child.
Looking at each other, they sit down.
My mom intervenes her hands with dad, and inquired, "So what did you want to talk to me about?".
I look towards their hand and then towards my mom. Who seemed to be daring me to say a word.
No freaking way.
I value my life, even more, after finding my precious one.
"I have actually found my mate"
They smile at each other.
"Now finally I can relax and you can become the Alph-
"About that... she is a human" I wait for their reaction.
"So there is still some time before you become the Alpha" she states and sighs wearily, slumping down on the sofa.
We stare at each other and start laughing.
"How did you know I was gonna accept her?" I question. did Uncle tell her?
"Because you are my son and I know what you want and what you are thinking?."
I smile and expressed sincerely."Thank you, Mom and Dad"
"Oh, Lucy-
"Please don't call me that"I request, I love them but that nickname is too much.
"Lucy-honey, come here, you never have to thank us ever." My dad says in a kind but stern voice.
I embrace them feeling emotional. Thanking whoever gave me such good parents.
The door abruptly bursts open and I sigh to look at the culprit who interrupted such a sweet moment.
And see Lily barging in with Jax and Blake.
Should have guessed.
"Hey, Luce! come with us, you know, we have to talk about your mate."Lily yelled while giving Mom and Dad a kiss on the cheek.
I roll my eyes and move out of the office with them.
"So where does she live?" I ask while turning on the T.V.
Jax replies"She lives in a secluded area near the Pinewood forest road, Where the rogue family lived before. "
"Does she live alone?"I ask concerned.
"I think so but I am not sure as I did not see anyone else."
"It's dangerous for her to live alone." my wolf mentions.
"Yes that's true but we are not still sure if she lives alone or not?" I answer him and shift towards Lily questioning "Anyway, Lily what did you talk to her about?"
"She is not much of a talker and is always on guard with everyone, you know, it seems as if she is sociable but I couldn't get much out of her, Ah! and she moved here due to some health is-
"WHAT HEALTH ISSUES!" my wolf and I roared at her.
She rolls her eyes and replies, not at all affected by my outburst "That is what I meant by 'she is not much of a talker' when I asked, she just avoided the question"
I apologize to her and voice"It's hard to control when it's about my mate"
"I must say she is very cool did you see her stop the punch stac-"Jax says with twinkling eyes but stops in midway when he sees Lily glaring at him and pointing towards me.
"Shut up"Lily growls at him in annoyance.
"What the fuck do you mean she stopped Stacy's punch? "I demand angrily "What are you hiding from me, Lily?" I ask turning to look at her with an accusing face.
She sighs"You stupid Jax can't you just keep your mouth shut for once"
Jax replies evidently offended"Shut up! it was an accident I-
I growl in irritation which stops them from squabbling further.
"Now tell me what you meant?"
"Stacy tried to bully Anne but instead got insulted and in fury when she tried to punch her Anne caught it,"
Lily explains along with Jax who imitates what happened while Blake just looks down shaking his head.
"What! a punch from Stacy are you sure?" I ask her again in disbelief.
I am furious at Stacy for disobeying me but I am astounded at the fact my mate could possibly do that.
She nods.
Jax nods.
Lastly, Blake looks up and states visibly puzzled like the rest of us." but isn't Stacy a trained fighter, who was also qualified to become gamma and along with this, the fact, a human can't stop punch from a werewolf because of our strength and speed."
We all gape at each other.
