Chapter 46: What's inside the box?

Continuation of the previous chapter...

Later, only he was aware that I was the adopted kid of his former crush when his parents were meeting. My mother and my mentor had a complex relationship.

My mother gave birth to me, but I don't understand why she claims that we are not related by blood and that she adopted me instead. He also had no doubts about her. 

Fortunately, I don't resemble my mother. When she first saw my mentor, I noticed a concealed fear in her eyes for the first time.

Everything improved with time, and I might even think of my mentor as my guardian because of the way he treated me. Mom wanted me to stay far from him and lessen our interaction but I didn't obey her for the first time.

I eventually joined the Capital University lab as his assistant at his recommendation. 

In the area of medicine, he was outstanding. 

He was my inspiration, and I had a lifelong desire to resemble him.
