Charlton's lips tilted up as his and Serena's eyes met. Then, he straightened himself before greeting her with her title the second time that evening.

"Your royal highness."

Serena who, for a moment was in a trance, was reminded of the reality. Hearing him utter her title she smiled gently as she gave him a slight nod. Then, she smoothly pulled her hand back from his grasp. "Grand duke Daniel." She greeted back.

Charlton's dimple deepened as his eyes curved in mischief. "Your highness, I believe that we have been better acquainted, so perhaps, I deserve something more than a lackluster greeting."

Serena's smile faltered as she froze. Her heart started to beat rapidly, what did Charlton mean by that?
