All academies whether it be the third-rate or the best academy which was the Guardian Academy all have their own Merit Halls which basically have more or less the same function

The Merit Hall is used to issue, accept, and report the completion of Academy-issued missions. The missions can range from simple jobs to extremely dangerous and the more dangerous a mission is, the richer the rewards and vice-versa

Coincidentally, the day that Rezen broke through to the mid-level Junior Mage is also the 'rest day' that the academy provided to the students for the transition from the first to the second semester

The 1st semester is used for the students to get used to the academy, its rules, and the overall environment. The 1st semester is also for the students to consolidate and strengthen their foundation. After all, even the rich students with great background don't necessarily have sturdy foundations
