Ajel vomited a large pool of black blood, before looking up at the entity that had formed in front of him.
"What have you done to me...?" Ajel muttered, as his sister giggled in front of him.
"All power comes at a cost, brother."
"Tell me... Izakaya... what is the cost?"
"Good grace, brother." His fake sister shook her head, her innocent tone and smile conveying that of a demonic one. "The more you call up on me, the more influence I will have on you, I will make you into an Azakana and make your urges into those of demons, your instincts will be driven by hunger and desire, not the rationality that you have currently."
"And-how-do-you-know.-"
"That you will call on my power?" The demon laughed. "Of course, you will, dummy! I will always be here, being that convincing whisper at your shoulder, I will make you call on me, that is the curse you have ever since you got branded with me."
Ajel noticed that his consciousness was fading as he looked toward the demon.
His eyes were tired, as he looked at the demon one last time.
"Fuck you."
------------
Ajel woke up the moment he fell asleep , only to notice he was in a bed with bandages over his body.
When did he get injured?
perhaps he didn't notice but it showed that the man was powerful.
Sensing a presence in the room , Ajel croaked out.
"how long?"
"A month." A beautiful person turned the corner , as Ajel looked to the woman. "Ashe."
She placed something on the table , which was wrapped in cloth so Ajel couldn't see the insides.
"You giving me a love letter?"
"Dream on."
"How did the war go?"
"Overwhelming victory. Since their information
was cut off and we burned their supply lines ,and nature and the main group did the rest."
Ajel sat up , but felt a stinging.
"Isn't that tattoo much bigger than Yvonne said it was?"
Ajel looked down and his eyes widened when he saw that the Tattoo had grew down his chest.
"You didn't see it before , from what i have tell it hasn't grown."
"If you say so."
"What's in the cloth?"
"Spoils of war , for you."
Ajel grabbed the cloth , and viewed the inside.
"We suspect that this weapon has magical properties." She said , looking to the dagger that that the man owned.
Another thing was two books that Ajel grabbed.
"The body technique and something called the pinwheel technique book. It is something for dagger but there is a section for swords and spears." Ashe simply sighed. "The clan has taken a copy of both of these books and now they will be teaching the soldiers the basics of each techniques."
"How convenient for you."
"Indeed." Ashe shaked her head. "You have been recognized for you deeds in the clan ,and you will be given a reward."
"A reward?"
"A reward of your choosing , as long as it isn't outrageous , it is our clan's way of showing that the act's of the mighty and the strong do not go unwelcomed."
"I see."
After making some small talk with Ashe , Ajel sent her off and laid down in his bed.
In his hands was a broken spear tip, something that radiated a greenish blue ethereal mist that made up the spear.
Ajel put his hands through it , and it phased right through.
"What was this thing? something to help me? or is it just a junk?"
Ajel could feel that he did indeed awaken , and this was his magic.
The usage of it , however , remained obscure until he could realise what it wanted to utilize whatever power it may possess.
"Impatience can cause wise people to do foolish things." Ajel requoted what he heard from elder Zakan when he was just a young boy.
Ajel attempted to get up , but his wounds stinged when he tried to sit up just so slightly.
It was fine , he needed to rest after the fight.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Winter descended on the Freljord with a a icy bitterness , as Ajel looked out to the heavy snow that was pelting the ground.
"You seem to have a lot to ask , child." Yvonne came behind him , offering a cup of her signature roasted Freljordian grain tea.
"The iceborn." Ajel muttered. "All of this awakening shit. Where does it come from?"
"It is a gift from the gods." Yvonne muttered, shaking her head. "They blessed Avarosa-"
"30 iceborn was in the enemy's armies , no?" Ajel muttered. "Does that mean they were Avarosan's at one point?."
"The original sisters of the Freljord , Avarosa, Serylda and Lissandra , they were blessed by the gods with overwhelming power."
"And the clan's descending from them?" Ajel raised his eyebrow. "Is that why is it is mostly inherited through daughters instead of sons?"
"Indeed."
"That's a healthy amount of stress to be putting on Ashe , being the leader that the people want , not what she wants."
"You seem to care a great deal about her."
"I do not care for her , it is just intrigue." Ajel muttered. "Is it so wrong to have knacks with the Freljordian culture?"
"No , it is not." Yvonne walked down to her chair made out wood , before sitting on it.
"What word would you describe Ashe as?" Yvonne said with a hint of intrigue.
"Martyr."
Yvonne only sighed.
"It is a fate she must bear."
"And if she doesn't?"
"The Avarosan's come to a end." Yvonne stirred her tea. "We become like the grains in this tea , we get sifted and then eventually devoured."
"Yvonne , do you have any family?" Ajel asked.
"Used to have , a caring father. His name has long been faded in the sands of time but his legacy lives forever in my heart. He is the one who brung me here in the Demacian and Noxus war."
"I see."
"Why do you ask?"
"how did you lose him?"
"Bandit raid." Yvonne muttered , her eyes seathering with anger.
"What happened to the people who killed him?"
"I slaughtered them." Yvonne's eyes opened. "Limb to limb , finger to finger , nail to nail."
"You felt satisfied?"
"No , it just eased the pain. Revenge is not always the option."
"I see." Ajel put the cup down , before going to his room.
Going back to his room , Ajel looked to the walls before slamming his fists onto them.
Revenge is not always a option?
bullshit.
