Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Higanbana Village

Chapter 14: Higanbana Village

~Albus POV~

After a while, I finally arrived at Higanbana Village with some encounters of the unfriendly kind and took the Bandits Lien after converting them into another Philosopher Stone.

Higanbana village after a few hours of walking around I sighed in relief finally reaching civilization again as I see the state of the village.

I see that everyone here is glad to make it back and the constructed homes similar to Attack on Titan homes with the stone homes and the culture of people around here differ from what I'm used to.

As I observe around the place I see that the White Fang members are in town and are setting up their rallies for their peaceful protest setting around the place.

So that's what they were carrying in their trucks was wondering what they were doing and seeing their busy organizing the place I have to admit this is certainly something.

Sad what they become in the future.

Sigh…

The White Fang is a Faunus organization in Remnant. Founded following the Faunus Rights Revolution, the White Fang was initially a peaceful activist organization created to improve relations between Humans and Faunus and improve the civil rights of the latter.

However, in the face of continued discrimination, Sienna Khan succeeded Ghira Belladonna as the high leader and the White Fang began to adopt more and more radical methods.

The White Fang's primary enemies were the Human governments, militaries, and Huntsmen, as well as the Schnee Dust Company of Atlas who had been locked in a bloody war for years due to the company mistreating it's Faunus workers.

The current aim of the organization is peace with humans for co-existence but in the near future, the complete destruction of the human-dominated society with humans either locked away or exterminated.

This would be achieved by toppling three pillars of society: the governments, the militaries, and the schools that train Huntsmen.

But the real main objective is that White Fang's intentions are for humanity to fear them.

Unfortunately, the fear factor never works out as intended quite literally for the main fact that there will be those that rebel.

Plain simple facts in human history.

Those rulers using fear are practically nothing noteworthy except being stains of human history by tyrants and are always killed by those close to them.

Quite poetic really in this case.

Although it's not like they have to know about it.

Following the Great War, the Faunus were given Menagerie as a reward for their participation, in conjunction with equal rights.

While some Humans saw these rewards as fair and just, many Faunus saw it as a slap to the face, as two-thirds of Menagerie is a desert that is uninhabitable due to dangerous wildlife.

They had no choice but to congregate on smaller areas of the landmass resulting in the dense settlement of Kuo Kuana.

Nodding at that I began to leave to investigate the village more as I need to buy food supplies for my trip to Mistral City if this leads correctly to the path.

Or I could use the train station of their airship here to fly to Mistral City.

Hmm…

Maybe I should focus on what I need first before doing anything.

First getting some food would be good enough from using the Lien of those bandits.

/////

"There you go kid this should last you a while."

"No, thank you for the help."

Paying for the food using the stolen Lien I got from the Bandits I managed to get enough to last me 3 days if used sparingly as I can't be too picky with food.

Taking the food I began to take a look around the place to find a train station here since some of the White Fang talked about it before with the grunts as I overhear their conversations.

Usually, humans use them but for Faunus, it's literally not good to be stuck with racist groups of people inside but for me, I can take the train ride with my Lien remaining still it has been good to have this info on hand.

Shion also had it in a form of an airship but at the time I didn't have any money to use to be able to afford the public transportation but here is different.

Shaking my head though while I could leave straight to Vale using the Mistral Train Station I know I'll be back with the no money issues soon enough but fortunately, I happen to know a place where I can get more Lien worth.

Although it will be cold and risky it is something I have to do.

Burnswick Farms.

Burnswick Farms was a farming village located in the mountains of northern Anima that first appeared in 'So That's How It Is'. The settlement was named after the Brunswick family that founded it along with at least two more families.

Its' residents died after a pack of Apathy Grimm underneath the farm sapped their will to live. During 'Alone in the Woods', the settlement was burned down by Ruby's Group after escaping Apathy.

But that hasn't happened yet since it never occurred yet.

However, it is the perfect place to loot the area if I can find it aimlessly without any help.

Fortunately, though finding it is the easier part thanks to the Apathy Grimm since they emit Hate and Anger towards humanity.

Focusing my eyes on Cursed Energy will help me view them once they are in a certain range since Cursed Energy allows me to see Curses which are the same as Cursed Energy.

Cursed Spirits, also referred to simply as Curses are a race of spiritual beings manifested from cursed energy as a result of the negative emotions that flow out of humans.

Curses are created when cursed energy leaks from humans as a result of their human emotions. Cursed energy builds up like sediment until a cursed spirit takes form.

And Grimm is somewhat similar to them since they have anger towards humanity and sensing them would be easier for me to locate when I use my CE to reinforce my eye's sight seeing them as energy forms.

Good enough for me.

With that, I began to take my chances of taking the train.

The sooner the better.

What's the worse that could happen?

/////

Everything.

I should really learn to not mock murphy's law at this point.

Standing in front of me is the Higanbana train station to Mistral City totally trashed and under repairs as my eyes twitched seeing this.

Honestly, I was kind of expecting to handle the good things happening but nope.

Guess I'm no protagonist.

And that means not much luck.

Leaving with no option left I was now forced to follow the trail towards Mistral City and following the path would leave me with no other choice than to go towards the path of…

Kuroyuri…

And it's the place near the home of the Grimm that killed off Ren's family in its cave…

FUCK!

Of all the times for their blasted train station to not work and their airship to be useless at a time like this.

Really, I can't get enough of the fact of how things are very inconvenient at times.

Who knows maybe I'll be lucky enough for the damn thing to be up and running again.

"Now people we of the White Fang have come for…"

Hearing that voice and recognizing it immediately I turn my attention to Ghira's voice coming off from the speakers they had on hand as I hear his voice booming out for the people listening in.

I see so his at his stage of being the leader and trying to resolve things peacefully here?

Listening as I have nothing better to do, I might as well talk to them or rather the grunts here to hear more of their words.

Walking towards the Faunus population I began to walk around to their sides as I talk to some of the Grunts here, "So that's Ghira the leader of the White Fang huh? Does he do these speeches often?"

Taking the time to notice me I see a genuine surprise from the Grunt as he replied, "Wha? Oh, you mean High Leader Ghira speeches. Well, he does this to hopefully help the ties between humans and Faunus. You new to the public rally protest?"

Glancing at the man I consider my option as I decided to get the most I can get here viewing everything happening, "Hmm… Not really per se. I have heard about these White Fang rallies but have never been to one as I travel. Guess there's a first time for everything right. This happens often?"

The Grunt seems to be happy about that as he spoke out about their jobs, "Why yes. High Leader thinks doing public rallies will raise awareness among the people of Mistral. But…"

He remained silent at that as I can already tell not all of his methods are working as they should.

Peaceful protest never truly ends that way but then again I was wondering something, "Hmm… Can I ask something to you? Can humans join the White Fang or merely only Faunus."

"Huh?"

Blinking sheepishly at that as some other Faunus grunts listened, he asked if I was joking, "What? You are messing with me human?"

Shaking my head at this I was genuinely curious about the idea as I asked, "What? Oh no. No, not at all. I'm merely curiously asking if it was possible or not?"

"Well…"

The question of this they seem to be stump at this since it never has happened before.

A human willingly joining their cause is something too weird for them to see.

Because why is a human ever would in RWBY?

They just seem very hesitant at the question I gave him as the grunt finally answered, "Uh… I mean… we are trying to establish peace like High Leader Ghira says to make equals with humans. But…"

"What is going on."

Hearing that voice I recognized it as I saw the person as a side character in the future volumes.

Ilia Amitola.

And judging from her glare under her mask...

Well…

Shit…
