Labyrinth of trials

Desperate for air, I found myself gasping loudly before opening my eyes and found Elise's fiery eyes staring right back at me.

The familiar walls of the labyrinth registered in my vision. Elise's soft hands helped me to sit up. 

"Welcome back," she murmured. 

I stared at my clothes. I was drenched, my hair was dripping wet, and the experience of being rocked back and forth in the middle of deep waters lingered.

I took a moment to gather my wits before attempting to stand. Dirt had clung to my wet clothes and arms.

"Let me help you get dry," Elise offered. We were standing face to face. She stretched her hand without waiting for my reply.

A small amount of heat wave came over me, and in a minute, the clothes I had on became dry, and so did my skin and hair.

I was somehow at a loss for words blinking rapidly, not because of what Elise had done but because of her alone.

She had grown again.
