Chapter 76: The Fourth ensemble

"Coffee?" Jacques glanced at the cup of coffee in front of her, lifting her eyes, only to see Luca shrugging. 

"Thanks," said Jacques as she accepted the coffee while Luca sat down beside her. "You've been a great help since the first day of the wake, though you don't have to force yourself."

"Seriously?" Luca leaned back on the bench, cocking her head to her manager. "I'm not forcing myself. My manager can barely function, so her artist had to take care of her."

She slowly peeled her eyes away from Jacques to look ahead. "You've always taken care of me, so I don't need to force myself if you needed me. I'd sell my house for you — you know that."

"Heh…" Jacques let out a short chuckle, shaking her head mildly. "Thanks."

"I also feel bad," Luca continued, casting Jacques a sidelong glance. "Just when I wanted to make up with you and Frank, this happened. I feel bad — terrible."
