Chapter 21: Some things Nova overlooked

In one of the presidential suites…

Georgina groggily rose from the bed, ruffling her tousled jet-black hair. Her eyes fell on the man's bare back lying on the same bed, but she looked away without showing any interest.

'That was quite a night.' She snapped her eyes ever so tenderly, glancing at the curtained shut window. 'She just left just like that.'

Georgina flung her legs out of the bed, tossing the blanket that was covering her naked glory. She sauntered towards the bathroom while running her hands through her hair, holding it up. When she walked past the mirror inside the spacious bathroom, she walked back to look at herself.

Her lips curled up, looking at the gorgeous woman in the mirror. She had always covered her body and wore all frustrating coverups since her face was akin to someone who wouldn't even swat a fly. But the sense of pride in her eyes while standing bare in front of the mirror was apparent.

"I don't know if I should feel relieved about last night." A shallow breath slipped past her lips, recalling last night's events. "Or take it as a sign that she's a little more innocent than I thought."

Last night, Luca and this random guy were being too flirtatious, leaving Georgina chewing her handkerchief in envy. When she thought Luca was about to kiss the man, Georgina was prepared to create a scene and stop them. But alas, just before that happened, Luca suddenly left in a hurry with her cat.

"Well, I promised Xan to set him up with an affair." Georgina shrugged and smiled at herself in the mirror. "I wonder if she'll eventually give in to such a scandalous affair? How exciting!"

With that thought in mind, Georgina happily entered the shower to enjoy the last days of her vacation trip. After giving herself some quality time, Georgina went back and forth into the room without caring whether she would wake up the man sleeping on his tummy on the bed.

Once she finished dolling up in front of the vanity, a satisfied smile turned up on her face. She touched her pinkish cheek with the back of her hand, satisfied with her minimal make-up that only magnified her white lotus persona.

"I wonder if she's already having breakfast…" the side of her lips stretched from ear to ear, excited to meet Luca later. "I should buy her some medicine in case she has a hangover."

Georgina pushed herself up, taking only her phone and wallet with her as she left her room. As soon as she exited the room, her lips stretched, seeing Xander walking towards the kitchen in his bathrobe.

"Good morning, honey~!" she greeted, skipping her steps to follow Xander into the kitchen. Georgina leaned her arms against the bar counter, watching Xander's figure in front of the fridge to get a bottle of water.

"Are you going to leave today?" she asked. "I'm thinking of inviting her later in my room… to share a glass of wine."

Xander kept a poker face, swallowing down the water before cocking his head back. His eyes fell on the woman leaning against the counter.

"We talked…" he trailed off, catching another woman's figure walking away from the room he came from. Georgina arched a brow and glanced at the woman, seeing the latter smile awkwardly and bowing at them.

"You're leaving?" asked Georgina, seeing that the woman still had some bruises on some areas of her exposed arms.

"Uh… yes." The woman, who barely put on her dress, nodded.

Georgina's smile faded. "Is that so?"

Seeing the cold reaction from his wife, Xander let out a shallow breath. He looked at the woman he had a one-night stand with and waved.

"Go. Don't mind her." He watched the woman lower her head after saying 'thank you,', and then faced Georgina. "I gave her money. Don't worry. She won't talk."

"And what if she did?" Georgina scoffed at him.

Xander pressed his lips and shrugged, making Georgina roll her eyes.

"Whatever, Xan." Georgina clicked her tongue in disappointment, pushing herself away from the counter. "I'll be heading out and meet my darling Lulu."

Xander watched Georgina drag her feet away while the latter hummed a tune. He didn't give much thought to his wife as he walked back to his room. However, on his way, he slowly stopped and gazed at Georgina's room.

"That woman…" he let out a shallow breath, turning on his heel, and headed towards Georgina's room instead. The second he opened the door, he narrowed his eyes as soon as he caught a figure lying on the bed.

"She should've at least paid him before leaving. Is she planning to keep him here?" he mumbled, walking inside to wake up the man. But Xander stopped several steps away from the bed when he noticed the man's toe peeking out of the blanket.

"La la la~" Georgina hummed as she happily left the suite. However, she stopped as soon as she closed the door behind her.

"Meow."

Georgina looked to her left and saw a black cat wandering around. She watched the cat's tail swing from left to right, approaching it carefully.

"Nova?" she called, hearing a meow as the cat looked back. "What… what are you doing here?"

Georgina looked around at the empty hallway and frowned. She then walked closer to Nova, bending over to pick up Luca's beloved cat.

"Did you sneak out of the room?" she carried Nova in her arms, modulating her voice to make it sound cute. "Where is Lulu, hmm? Poor you. Let's go meet her, alright?"

A huge smile turned up on Georgina's face, assuming she could use Nova to approach Luca more naturally. But just as Georgina took several steps and was about to walk past the door, she flinched when it flew open from the inside.

Turning to her side, she arched a brow at Xander. "What?" she asked.

Xander was silent as his eyes fell on the cat in her arms. When he raised his eyes once more, he didn't say a word and pulled Georgina back inside with Nova.
