Chapter 245: Woven In

"Pure life?" Someone in the circle whispered. "What does that mean?" 

Cora's eyebrows pulled together as she concentrated on her own flame next to her side—the candle that had been lit from the source. It was not right to put so much emphasis on her as special or unique, was it? In terms of fae ability, she was only a conduit for something they all had access to: life. It didn't feel right to accept this boost to her ego, even if it did mean potentially silencing the whispered questions of those in the room.

"Do you want to show us?" August asked gently, drawing Cora's attention back to her. 

She could see it was something that August was curious about as well. She believed what she had heard about what Cora could do, but she hadn't seen it for herself.
