"Come with us, Penelope," Sage said. "I can portal you out of there. It won't be a problem." 

"I can't leave my kids," she shook her head with a sad smile. "I appreciate it so much though. I just need to see this through." 

"How many kids do you have?" Gia asked, her eyes growing wide at the thought of more than just Theo's mate. Were there other half alyko running around Gray Vale? 

"Two. Cora and Zane. Zane's heart stopped beating about a week ago. He is very much like his father. He reminds me a lot of Zagan." 

"Does he have fae abilities like you as well?" Gia asked.

"No. No, he never developed them. Just Cora," she nodded at her own truth and fidgeted with her hands. 

"What happened to Zagan?" Sage asked, a frown furrowing his brow. He could sense the unspoken sadness like a heaviness in her aura.
