Chapter 151: 150- The Agreement
A tall dark and massive lady entered the room with other massive ladies. They freed Papa and Veronica.
"So the dead-bodies out there are the mice we are offered," asked the massivest lady named Tara.
"No my goddess," Papa said while shaking all the way in fear.
"Calm down husband. I knew that you would be up to something. Besides you knew so many secrets of mine. That was why I sent a hunter to track you down and disturb you. I thought that you could not do anything potential in fifty years, that is, your entire life. What can you do now? But I was wrong. I did not know that you were planning to dethrone me."
Papa whimpered before her, "Forgive me goddess. I committed a blunder. But…"
"Tut, tut. I am here to talk to my daughter,' Tara said.
Everyone else left the room, dragging Papa out of the room. Tara came to bowed down Veronica. She asked Veronica to stand up. Veronica stood up; but had no daring to face her. We do not fall in love with fickles. – It is my entire fault. I came here late. The boy slipped away from our hands again. – Promise me, within a year you will fetch me the boy – dead or alive. Then only you will have a place in our society. Do you understand? Do you agree?"
Veronica stared into Tara's fiery eyes. She was feeling ashamed that she fell in love with the boy. She felt cheated by fate. She uttered, "I agree…"
