Chapter 238: The Zarwing

Kevin, Mira, and Alan stood absolutely still, hugging the abandoned trucks for cover. On the other side of the road, the Raider Lieutenant had his back pressed against a hummer and his eyes fixed on the Zarwing flying above him.

The two Raiders who had gone back to the repair shop to get the last few crates were hiding inside. They knew they were safe as long as they remained inside the building. Any attempt to attack the Zarwing was only going to cause more trouble.

After circling the road a few times, the Zarwing eventually came down and landed on the ground. Drawn by the smell of fresh human blood, it found the dead Raiders. The Lieutenant gripped his rifle tight and watched as the flying monstrosity started ripping the limbs of his fallen comrades with its razor-sharp claws.
