Chapter 233: The hostage

Kevin got down on his knees to get a better look at the collar. He tried to use his Local Hacking Tool to disable the device, but his system displayed an error message.

"Crap! There's always something wrong," Kevin grumbled. 

"Thanks for trying," the girl spoke through tears. "You should leave now."

"I'm not going anywhere without you," Kevin assured her and then quickly connected to Guzman over the satellite radio. "Guzman, I've taken down the Raiders. But there is a problem. I need your help."

"What's wrong? Is the girl okay?" 

"The girl's fine, but she is in danger. There is a detonation collar attached to her neck. We need to disable it."

"Damn it! Has it been activated yet?"

"Yeah, we have under six minutes left."

"Stay there. I'm coming to you."
