Chapter 106: Deathless white

The temperature outside kept dropping steadily as the snowfall increased in intensity. The wailing winds ravaged the decaying concrete corpses, desecrating the last remains of the human world. As the snow fell steadily from the sky, the dull brown wasteland turned a shade of greying white.

Steel, bricks and bone were buried under layers of dirty white as nature smothered the ruined district with her cold, withered hands. The world outside had died many months ago, and the storm dutifully performed the last rites of the deceased. The dead were mourned by the grieving winds, which blew through the cracks and crevices of a hundred shambling houses. Neither man nor machine stirred on the desolate streets.
