In the anime, the Rinnegan is depicted as various colors in its first appearance.
Once some manga illustrations were colored, the Rinnegan's colors are light blue, that is, the problem was corrected.
Following the death of his parents, Nagato first activated the Rinnegan implanted in him by Madara and used its powers to kill his parents' killers.
In the manga, for some reason, it doesn't stay active, as Nagato has activated it once again to defend Yahiko from an Iwagakure Chūnin.
From then on, his eyes are not seen without the Rinnegan design.
However, in the anime, he temporarily awakens the Rinnegan again to protect Yahiko and Konan from an explosion.
When Nagato's Preta Path absorbs Naruto's chakra, it can be seen how the Rinnegan's eye would look influenced by Sage Mode.
The only two users who have this dojutsu implanted received their eyes from Madara Uchiha.
In the ninja world, only three people have managed to awaken the Rinnegan: Hagoromo, Madara and Sasuke.
The only Rinnegan that has been used throughout the series, except for Hagaromo's, originally belonged to Madara, and later the one awakened by Sasuke in his left eye.
Sasuke's Rinnegan has been shown numerous times with more or less than six tomoe. Initially in his debut he featured nine tomes just like the Rinne Sharingan. When he saw Madara's Shadow of Limbo, he had no tomoe.
On the back of the Fourth Databook there were only three tomoe.
In various media, Sasuke's Rinnegan has been identified by various names.
Within the main works of Kishimoto and Kodachi it is referred to only as "Rinnegan".
In the novel Sasuke Shinden: Book of Dawn, he is referred to as "Supreme Rinnegan" (Shikō no Rinnegan).
In some video games and spin-offs it is referred to as the "Rinne Sharingan".
Momoshiki's Rinnegan are the typical color of Dōjutsu, i.e. grayish purple, as shown on the first poster of Boruto: Naruto the Movie and the cover of the second volume of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. In the anime, when using his techniques, his Rinnegan changes to a red color.
In Boruto: Naruto the Movie, after absorbing Kinshiki, Momoshiki's Rinnegans remained grayish purple.
Both Momoshiki and Urashiki, despite both possessing the Rinnegan, never showed the techniques related to the Jutsu: Six Paths like the users of the dōjutsu in the Shinobi World.
In the Boruto: Naruto the Movie novel, Sasuke's Rinnegan possesses several sciences, with pattern recognition being one of them.
It allows you to analyze patterns within codes and by comparing them to similar patterns, it is able to decipher what is written.
By using it, you can get a lot of information from a small amount of text.
